The dial tone rgisters but after that nothing. everything else seems to work

Hi Julie Dyreng, check the dialing mode is on tone rather than dec or pulse

Try swapping it with another working phone of the same type. This will tell you if the extension line is in trouble to the phone system or the phone.

Some units if the battery is not fully charged or any ac adaptor for another phone also connected is not plugged in you will now have no dial tone.

hello i have a solution, you need to change you dialing mode on the base option, the deafult is "tone dialling", change to "pulse tone " this fix my problem on my A495 gigaset.

It could be the fax line in the wall. Try to insert a telephone straight to the wall and listen for a dial tone. If you hear no dial tone, please contact your phone company and have them check the line. If you hear a dial tone, re-plug the printer into the wall using a different known working telephone cable. Try to fax again.

Just press top left (R/<-) button about 3 sec. and a letter changes (p - pulse or t - tone).

Make sure that you have your telephone line from the wall jack plugged into the port on the fax that says "LINE" and that your telephone is plugged into EXT.

All your cables and jacks seem like they are working since your phone gets a dial tone, the onyl thing could be that the wires are mixed or the modem on the fax is broken.

Have you checked you Pulse/Tone dialing switch? Perhaps it is dialing in the incorrect mode, it should be set to Tone, please check.

Try to make a new connection shortcut and make sure your telephone line is properly connected on your modem. Also make sure that your password and username is correct. another thing is check that your system date is correct.. Hope this works ! ITTech7574

make sure the line is connected right try replacing the cord or maby the lines in your area are down out of service this happens
