Again with the coffe pot thats not my problem mine is the stand up water cooler with the 5 gallon jug with the disgusting metal tasteing water it was shut off for a while and then i plug it in and put a jug on now the water tase awful

If it tastes funny, take it back!
Maybe a bad batch.
Why not just get a good filter for your tap water?
Cheaper and more convenient than lugging water home (IMHO).

If the cooler or the water are not getting cold I would check for a high pressure reset if they are getting cold the compressor would working fine, you could also try flushing it, is there a pattern to the flash that may indicate a code................good luck! mine has developed a leak and does not heat less that 6 mo old pretty disapointing.

Using one cup of bleach Per 5 gallon jug. Find the drain plugs on the bottom of the unit there are two. Drain unit of any water that is in it now. Replaced drain plugs. Place 5 gallon jug on top of unit and allow unit to fill. Be sure that heated water is off. Open spigots and allow a gallon of water to drain. After about 15 minutes open the drain plugs and allow all of the solution to drain out. Proceed to fill the 5 gallon jug with clean Clear filtered water and allow that to drain thru the unit, do this five more times.

the filter in your jug probably uses charcoal as a filter medium. IT removes taste- heavy metals - chlorine -fluoride .the first application is the loose charcoal being flushed from the filter and you have no need to worry as charcoal is necessary in the body (carbon) and it will not harm you. Just empty the jug and refill until you get clean water.

Try running white vinegar through it for a cycle to clean it then run plain water. If that doesn't fix it, and nothing else has changed, try buying a gallon of water at the store and making coffee with that. Something may have changed with your water supply. Water quality is one of the most important aspects of coffee making. If none of this helps, have someone else taste it. If you've started a medication recently it could be altering your taste as well. Good luck.

Add some automatic dishwasher detergent ( maybe 1/4 cup) and fill the rest of the pot up with very hot water. Swirl to combine. Let stand for a few hours. Use a bottle brush to scrub the pot. Or get some denture cleaner tablets and throw them into the pot with hot water. Let stand a few hours or overnight, then scrub with bottle brush. I've tried both methods on my coffee pot and both work great for me.
