Sony laptop won't reconnect to wireless router

Sometimes, when restarting my Sony Vaio FW330j (from Fry's Electronics) after a shutdown, it does NOT reconnect with my Linksys Router. However, I never experience this reconnect problem with another wirelessly connected computer to the same router. I have the latest Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN Wireless LAN driver (v12.1.0.14) on my laptop. Any help to fix this intermittent problem would be greatly appreciated.

You need to go into the properties of the wireless connection and set it to automatic connect, somehow the information was removed, maybe you disconnected, which often puts the connection back to manual. by reconnecting it often fixes itself.

Sony Vaio VGN-SZ18GP Windows 7 shutdown problem .... when I shut down .... it gets stuck on the screen of shutdown but the "loading circle" is still running

This can be a sign of a memory failure, either the RAM is not clearing or the hard drive is on its' way out. Hold the power button down for 6 seconds for a "hard shutdown". Then restart and see if the problem persists.

Wifi not working on my sony vaio vgn-nw270f

make sure you turn the wireless switch on. It should be on either side or the front of the laptop.

Did you configure the new router and set the wireless on it?

If your internet provider is a phone company such as AT&T did you configure the router to be PPOE (and set the userid and password) and bridged the modem that goes into the router?

If your internet provider is a cable company did you set the router to be DHCP?

Does the Sony even see the wireless network in the View Available Wireless Networks list?

Did you put the wireless key in correctly?

You didn't by chance happen to hit the FN function key on the lower left portion of the keyboard + the key (F1 thru F12) that toggles the wireless on and off? The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have the wireless signal icon )))) or it will have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal )))).

If wireless connection drops its not all the time your laptop issue... its router transmitted channel conflict with laptop wireless card channel....
You might fix this by changing the router wireless setting by changing the transmission channel on it.and then re connect the laptop or it may auto reconnect with it and hopefully signal will not drop.

Sony Vaio laptop unable to detect wireless access point

CompuLayne: Hello bluebells953

Netgear is quite tricky as is with all other routers, but I don't think the router is your problem. Try to do the following.

1) Turn off Vaio laptop
2) unplug router
3) unplug modem
4) plug back in modem - wait for it to boot up
5) plug back in router - wait for it to boot up
6) turn back on the Vaio - log in and see if it sees the SID. If it isn't broadcasting, you might have to enter it in manually and select connect to non broadcasting network

Sony vaio pcg-k25 won't stay on after pressing the power button. it powers up to the window to enter my password then turns off on it on. sometimes won't even reach that far, just the led lights go on than...

Please perform the following troubleshooting:

(i) Remove and reseat the RAM modules.
(ii) Remove the Battery and reinsert it after cleaning the metal contact.

If the issue persists even when the AC Adaptor is connected then try to get into the BIOS and check if the Computer restarts or shutdown automatically. Restart the Computer and press the F2 key as the VAIO logo appears to enter into the BIOS window. if the Computer shutdown even when in the BIOS then service will be required otherwise try reinstalling the Operating System.
