What is the meaning of ffc conection in laser printer

Hi.
C3100: ISU home position error
It usually means the scan carriage can't move.
If it s a little MFP, you can unlock the scan with the yellow button on the left of the glass (under the DP). (This was only meant for transport reason).
Otherwise - Possible cause:
Defective FFC between CCD PWB (YC1) and control PWB (YC8).
- Replace the image scanner unit (ISU)
Defective FFC between control PWB (YC6) and scanner PWB (YC103), or improper FFC insertion:
- Reinsert the FFC. Also check for continuity within the FFC.
If none, remedy or replace the FFC.
Defective home position sensor.
- Replace the home position sensor.
Defective harness between ISU motor and scanner PWB (YC104),
or improper connector insertion.
- Reinsert the connector. Also check for continuity within the connector harness. If none, remedy or replace the harness.
Defective ISU motor.
-Replace the ISU motor.

That is a typical case of poor/weak signal getting to the display via the FFC, either is a poor (or NO) contact problem, or a defective FFC.Look for the Flat Film Cable looking similar to the one in the picture, and make sure no pinching/broken traces. And/or confirm the conection at each side. Good Luck!

well we replace all that fail. fixing them is kinds deity like, for sure.
FFC is cable only.... so....
if you broke the 2 end connectors in the PC, then you just wrecked good mobo. $$$$$
there are 3 kinds if jacks, FFC

1. hinge (aka rotary)
2. just pull & push on,
3. wedge type.

#1 and 3 takes skills not to wreck them.
do not ever yank off 1 or 3. they both must be unlocked first.
wedge just pull up the wedged. device. in the correct directon
the hinge (i hate) must be trickled to open and varies by brand
so far I have no wrecked any but fixed many from others that did.

Dear the printer has the problem with cis cable(FFC) connected to main PBA.

"Service Call Error"
Code: 1A39
Category: Hardware
Error Name: Head Error

Cause:
• Connection failure of the HEAD FFC.
• Electric parts or components are damaged due to improper HEAD FFC connection such as connecting it at an angle.
• The drive circuit in the PRINT HEAD is damaged.
• The fuse of the MAIN BOARD has blown.

Check Item:
Is the HEAD FFC connected properly without being connected at an angle and any abnormalities such as peeled terminals?

Remedy:
1. Replace the HEAD FFC. (See P.127)
2. Replace the PRINT HEAD. (See P.126)
3. Replace the MAIN BOARD. (See P.111)

The problem is most likely with the laser scanning unit. Check for damage to Flat Flex. Cable between formatter PCB & laser Scanner unit. Checks the FFC ends for damages. Repair the ends / Replace FFC if required. Service or replace the laser scanner unit if problem persists.

VH monitor error or Error Code B200
Condition: The print head voltage is abnormal.
Problems and Solutions:

• Replace Print head and logic board (Replace them at the same time.)
• Replace Power supply unit
• Check and Clean Head contact pin condition of the carriage unit
• Check Cable connection especially the carriage FFC

52 Scanner Error
The all-in-one has experienced an internal hardware error.

1. Turn off the power by using the power switch, and then wait at least 30 seconds.
2. If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the all-in-one directly into the wall socket.
3. Check the FFC connection between the formatter and the scanner.
NOTE Do not bend or fold the FFCs during the removal or reinstallation process.
4. Try connecting the product to a different power source or surge protector.
5. Turn on the power and wait for the all-in one to initialize.
6. If the error persists, replace the laser scanner assembly.
