Purchase the plastic lift lever arm first. Remove motor from pedestal with the 4x large Philips head screws underneath the back of the motor housing. Note which way around the lever is on the shaft (take a photo is a safe way) Remove split pin with some pliers, don't wreck it as you will need to re-use it. Punch out the roll pin that locates the plastic lever to the shaft. Fit the new plastic arm CORRECTLY. Punch the roll pin back where it belongs, making sure it is evenly engaged as too far in or out will make it foul. Put the rod back thru the lever and split pin it again. Check operation before you put the motor back on.

Bowl lift lever on hobart HL200 loose, can't lift the mixing bowl

check inside the machine housing the part where the handle is moving but the rest of assembly is not it could be a pin has dropped out. use something like a nail etc to block this part so that the handle turns the assembly. until you can get a replacement.

if this is not the case then a part is broken and needs replacing.
see manual at this link.
https://manualsbrain.com/en/manuals/1275564/?page=61
see part pin PS-004-15 this could be the problem on pages regarding base and pedestal you can see the lifter assembly diagram here and a list of parts if replacements are needed.
also to reduce wear on this lifter ensure the bowl holding arms sliding rails are kept clean and lubricated. if they get fouled up with flour etc this over time, plus the weight of the bowl can cause excessive strain on the lifter assembly.

I hope this was helpful.

My bowl lift lever on the hobart (bought off ebay) K5ss doesnt lock the bowl into place. What do I need to do to fix it, or at least figure out whats wrong if something needs to be replaced.

On a bowl lift mixer there is a small metal clip on the back of the bowl support arm, it works in conjunction with a small "NIB" on the back of the bowl, when you put the bowl on the support arm there are two pins that the bowl rests on, on each side of the support arm, you place the bowl on the pins then press down the rear of the bowl untill the nib locks into the clip, if the bowl is not locking in place then one of four things are wrong, one of the pins are not on the support arm, the NIB on the back of the bowl has come off (it is spot welded on) or the clip at the yolk of the support arm has worn down or broke in half and there would be no locking action without it. The pins or the clip are inexpensive if it is the Nib on the back of the bowl you will need a new bowl. Hope that helps if not pleases get back with us so we can FiXya.

Mixer arms shake when kneading bread

You have not supplied a model number and the bowl lift models are not all the same. A couple of items you could check, make sure that the bowl retaining clip that engages with the dimple on the pedestal side of the bowl is not broken. Make sure any bolts/screws holding the pedestal to the base or the pedestal to the motor are tight. Even if you supply a model number I can't think of anything else to look at unless the handle is not lifting the bowl up tight enough. I think on some models the arm holds the carrier up with some pressure which would help stop the wobbles.

KitchenAid K5 Mixer Bowl Rocks Back & Forth

This may be explained with the bowl assembly. Being a bowl lift mixer, please follow the following steps to make sure the bowl is being secured before mixing:

There are the bowl-holding arms on the left and right hand side of the mixer. You will place the bowl on these arms, securing it onto the pegs.

Also, take your fingertips and press down firmly at the back of the bowl where it is resting against the base. You will hear an audible click as the bowl secures down into a spring latch mechanism on the stand mixer base, allowing the mixing bowl to sit flush and secure.

A 200 mixer. the bowl lifting lever hits the bowl and guard.

If it hits the bowl its been dumped on the side and bent it. I have done this on sight I get a mapp torch and use a pipe wrench large one and heat it up at the bend where it goes in side and bend it out. or you can buy a new one take the head off four bolts under head and one roll pin inside easy to see and replace arm. The bending is quick and cheap. it will work like new be sure and clean and luber slides wd where it goes in neck.
