If you have bought them pre-owned sometimes the have been tampered with and you will need to buy the game again. If it is new then I would go and check with the retailer you bought it from that you don't have anyway of returning it.
I bought 2 psp units model 3001 for my kids with original 5.03 version. I can upload iso/rar games to these psp. I wonder why your unit is 6.31. Version 5.03 is uploadable and can play iso/rar games using chicken software ( for upgrading 5.03 to 6.31 version) and gen-c software for activating the games.
there are 2 different ways you can go about doing this. 1) buying games from psn -- with this all you have to do is set up your psp so that its able to connect to the psn. and when u buy a game you can download it to your memory stick.
2) involves installing a custom firm ware on your psp which will void warranty. you can serch the web/youtube for this. this guy on youtube helped me alot to cfw my psp.
just know that last i checked its best to cfw the 1000 (the fat original) and the 2000 (the original slim psp)series. with the cfw on newer models 3000 series (the new slim with improved display) and the go its not recommended for the cfw is not too stable. you can check the bottom side below the start button to see what model u have.. it'll probably be like psp2001 etc etc....
that is easy if you already have psp games to computer for example tekken.iso or .cso all you to do is copy the game to psp memory card using cardreader or usb to the memory stick just make new folder to the root of your memory rename it to iso and then open your iso folder right click select paste thats all
you have to have a custom firmware psp, google it if ya dont know what that is, when yout psp is on custom formware you format the memory stick and you get the iso folder on the root folder you just put the games on there using a usb cable.
