I was sewing with elna machine and ran out of thread. This caused the thread to ball up underneath and "jam" the machine. I cleared it out and rethreaded it, but now the top thread doesn't catch the bobbin...

it is possible that the sewing machine has a timing problem, but check to see if the needle is inserted correctly into the needle holder
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin case if the machine has a top loading bobbin
if the machine has a side or front loading bobbin also make sure the bobbin case is inserted correctly into the machine.
and also make sure the top thread has not come off the thread take up lever

I have Singer Machine 7470 and when i try to fill the bobbin on top of the machine it make a noise and it wouldn't spin it keep making a noise. Please help

Noisy top bobbin winders is usually caused by no oil on the spindle, or the noise could be coming from a dry top shaft under the balance wheel which is very common

The lower thread does not bring up , so that the uper thread does not come in contact with the lower thread .I hear unusaul noise while sewing. All these happend when I tried to sew a jeans .i used a thread...

As a general rule, domestic machines don't like buttonhole twist, that heavy yellow thread you see on the RTW jeans. Sometimes you can put it through the bobbin but use a regular weight thread on top but this means sewing upside down as you'll want the yellow on top. And lots of machines dont like different weight thread top and bottom so it just makes for awful stitching anyway.

Best solution to top stitch jeans is use a regular weight thread, large size jeans needle but thread up two spools of thread on the top with both threads going through the same needle eye. It still may not solve the problem though.

To your machine, firstly change the needle as it may be bent. Then unthread the machine and manually turn the flywheel through a stitch cycle and listen carefully, if you still hear a noise as the needle touches the rotary hook, you've knocked the timing out. Service man visit time.

Probably if you check the manual, it will say 50 weight thread, and you'll need to stick with that in the future.

Those big industrial sewing machines that they top sew jeans on are very different to a domestic SM, many make a chain stitch or fell the jeans seams and are very heavy duty.

When sowing the thread bunches up in a ball. The inner rotary make noise, how to correct problem?

first change the needle
clean under the needle plate where the feed dogs are for lint
also clean the bobbin area for lint or loose threads
rethread the machine-top thread & bobbin

some time the top thread can come off some thread take up levers--that should be watched when sewing

check to make sure the bobbin is always wound correctly--and incorrect wound bobbin can cause sewing problems

Noise from bobbin case on new Janome 4020

Check the bobbin to be sure it is inserted correctly. When you pull on the bobbin thread the bobbin should turn to the left(orcounterclockwise). If it doesn't, the thread will come out of the bobbin tension and give you loose stitches on top of the fabric. It will also make a noise because the bobbin is bouncing up and down.you will need to readjust your tension again.

Singer sewiing machine clicking

Remove the needle , tighten the needle set screw so the clamp doesn't rattle and run the machine. This will give you a better idea of where the noise originates.
Remove the top cover and put a drop of sewing machine oil(not 3 in 1 oil) on anyplace that moves and rubs. Run the machine again and see if you still have the noise. Replace the top cover.
Open the side cover(left side) put a drop of oil on any thing that moves or rubs(Shafts or joints). Run the machine again.
Remove the bottom cover and repeat the above processes.
If you still have the problem and it is bothering either you or the machine then it needs to be seen by a technician.

Machine is Whining

Any unusual sounds should be checked out by your dealer to prevent serious damage. However, first check the flywheel, on the top right side of the machine, for any thread that were caught between the flywheel and casing, causing the motor to work harder. If not, take it to your dealer.
