Question about Yamaha 1,000 Watt Portable Generator #EF1000ISC
Haven't started this generator in almost two years. I changed the spark plug; fresh gas, oil is clean, stopped an apparent leak in the carb., but still won't start.
After removing the carb, disassembling and blowing it out (twice) to no avail, got a one gallon can of Gunk Parts and Carburetor dip. Removed the carburetor (again), removed float bowl cover, gasket, float, and needle valve and soaked it in the cleaner for several hours. Blew it out (again) and reinstalled it. Now generator starts on first pull like new!

I have the same problem. i took out the air filter and sprayed tb into it and it ran and died. this is the only way to get it to fire up.
i took off the carb, dissasembled it and blasted it out with tb cleaner, took out the jets too, put it all back and it still does the same thing. it is getting fuel but it won't run.
need a profesional answer on this one please.

Remove the air filter and squirt a little gas into the carburetor. If it starts and dies, you'll know it's the carb. Probably varnished up from old gas. ALWAYS use fuel stabilizer in a generator
