We regret to inform you the USB connection from an Apple TV will not provide you any sound. We recommend you connect the Apple TV with an Optical cable then place the home theater on the Optical input to hear sound.

Hi,
are both the iPad and Apple TV connected to your Apple ID iCloud account ?
on the Apple TV, look in
- settings
- accounts
- iCloud, iTunes & App Store.
both devices should be using the same account ID, and I suggest you turn on "Home Sharing" on the Apple TV as well.

on the Apple TV icons, there is one for "Photos"
you should check to see what photos are shown there if all of the above account logins have been done.

I have a laptop with sound and I connect a large screen to it, but the large screen does not have speakers.

Get a set of remote usb speakers. Is it a large monitor or large screen tv? If it is a tv it will have speakers. They will work if you have an HDMI CONNECTION on your laptop.

Purchased Apple TV. TV does not have HDMI. How do we hook up to sound system?

Just use a normal stereo cable with the 3.5 jack ..take a look and see what kinda in-let has for sound in ..and use a cable ..It will take teh sound automatically or you will have to choose the port ..
If you use a VGA connection for image .this is kinda needed..For a euro-scrart will take the sound for the TV stations auto ..if you use a receiver ..The separate sound is only needed for to hook up a computer or a dvd player ..(for the last one use rca cable )
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RCA_connector
U can also use this rca cable for a computer if it has such a exit for image and use a jack to rca for sound ..in case it only has a rca in-let for sound ..

How can I transfer the photos from my Sanyo 3810 cell phone to my Apple I mac? Also, can these photos in the Sanyo phone be displayed on my tv?(which has USB ports)

Hello

Firstly, you can transfer your picture using bluetooth. Activate bluetooth on Apple I mac phone and send the picture from Sanyo 3810.

Secondly, You can remove the memory card on the Sanyo 3810 and insert it on Apple I mac phone.

Photos in the Sanyo phone can not be displayed on tv it can only be displayed on computer using your USB ports and connecting the laptop and the Sanyo phone with the USB code.

Take care,

I bought a used Apple tv. The usb port does not work. Genius told me it is "burnt". any suggestions?

If it is just the USB port, and you have some soldering skills, you may be able to replace the port itself. The port should have a part # on it that you can then search for using Google. If it is more than the USB port, unfortunately you may be looking at a logic board replacement.
Hope this helps!
