Windows XP startup error: ppped.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close

After reinstalling Windows XP, SP3, and the software for the geek squad ups and all Windows updates, each time I re-boot the system I get the error dialog box with message "ppped.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close..." and an OK button. How do I fix it so the system loads this little daemon for status monitoring to execute.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with windows XP, McAfee Security Suite, and a Verizon USB for internet. When I turn it on I get an error message: dlbcserv.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. ...

This error message is a result of your Dell printer software functioning improperly.
This is a 'quick fix' to get rid of the error message:
  1. click 'Start'->'All Programs'->Startup
  2. Right click on dlbcserv.exe and click 'delete'

PS: dlbcserv.exe is a Windows process installed alongside Dell Photo Printers and provides additional configuration options for these devices. Although it is not an essential process for the operating system, you should not remove & uninstall it unless it is causing serious problems and errors.Dlbcserv.exe is a Windows file created by Dell. The file is usually found in Program Files\Dell Photo Printer 720\dlbcserv.exe folder. If you find it anywhere else, Please note that dlbcserv.exe could be a virus, trojan, worm, or spyware. Scan your computer with an antivirus software to make sure it is not infected.

When my pc starts up i get the message :Air GCFG .exe- entry point not found. Then I get a second error message saying Procedure entry point aspInitialize not found in the link library wlanapi.dll

did you update from sp2 to sp3 remove sp3 for one reason
fixed it by going to Windows Defender, Tools - Software Explorer and
disabled AirGCFG.exe from automatically starting at boot.** Now I don't get the error message and
the Dlink NIC card works just fine.
AirGCFG is a NIC monitoring function and the NIC will work without it.
Dlink was advised and reported back that SP3 was still Beta and they may work on the problem after
MS releases the final SP3.
I informed them that they did not know what was what and I would not hold my breath until they fix
the problem.
Found out the problem was due to a new version of the wlanapi.dll file introduced with SP3 that
conflicts with the Dlink monitoring file.

** Note: AirGCFG did not show up in the "msconfig" startup listing. But does show in Windows
Defender, with an explanation of what it does.

I have problem while installing audio driver in xp sp3 iam using mercury 945 mother board.. it shows ''exit error object not found'' and i also tried these steps but no use: the steps: Download this...

download links for anything widows is XP is no longer supported
you need your computer to have the sp3 pack fully installed

getting audio to work on this issue
as you have uncounted is a world wide problem

kb888111xp2.exe ..today is closed .i cant find it

you may be restricted to audio drivers for the mercury mother board or if the sound card came with a driver disc use that

Click to start program. Up comes first screen for seconds then closes to Microsoft error. Fault on operation of DVBTAP.exe. Invites sending error to Microsoft. Big deal. Return Email...

There are a lot of headaches and bugs in the SP3. Removing the software and reinstalling it using a "clean boot" may resolve the symptoms you are experiencing. Booting clean is a way to eliminate programs from conflicting with installation and operation of software.

1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
2. Open the Add / Remove Programs window.
3. Locate the listing for the software and remove it.

Next, do the following:
1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG --> Click OK
2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
3. Uncheck Process SYSTEM.INI file
4. Uncheck Process WIN.INI file
5. Uncheck Load Startup Items
6. Click on the Services tab
7. At the bottom, check Hide All Microsoft Services
8. Uncheck all boxes in the window or click the button labeled Disable All
6. Click OK
7. Click Restart

After restarting, reinstall the software. Next, do the following:

1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG--> Click OK
2. Replace checkmarks in the items that you previously removed them from.
3. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
4. Click OK
5. Click YES, when asked to restart your computer

Another option would be to uninstall the SP3 update and revert back to SP2. You can uninstall the SP3 update in the same way, through Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

Hope that helps...Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.
