Many Wrangler JK's have lift, but few people extend their brake lines. This is particularly important for Rubicon models. The Rubicons are capable of insane wheel travel, by stretching the wheel travel further (lifted?) you could exceed the length of the feeble factory brake lines. Crown manufactures brake line extensions for Wranglers, specifically for lifts.

This could be a lot of things. There are springs that hold the parking brake shoes that could be broken, there are springs that hold the regular shoes that could be broken, there are hydraulic pistons that could be over extended, there could be excessive wear on the pads or drums / calipers . You will have to remove the tires too see

2006 jeep commander abs trac.control esp lights are on seems like abs is locking up 0ff and 0n

there is a small switch under brake bedal. when it is broken, you get a warning on your dash light and ABS and related equipment go into safe mode. you need a new one. other reason to this can be a broken sensor on one of brake calipers. those must be checked.

so.... either the cable is broken, or the parking brake mechanism is missing, broken, rusted? You should be able to crawl under and watch the cables being pulled as somone works the parking brake lever. If they work ok, then its time to pull the wheels off and ck the brakes.

Slamming noise from rear of jeep

Without checking it out it would be hard to pin down, but it pretty much HAS to be one of these things. A broken shock or spring, a broken brake disc or one of the discs in loose in the caliper. If it is a shock making that kind of noise it would likely be visibly broken and show other signs (bouncing, popping). If it were a spring~ sometimes they are just noisy, but they should also make the noise at other times. If you haven't had the noise occur at any other time (rough terrain, tight cornering) it's almost certainly brakes. It's a good idea to replace all four at a time~ in my experience if two are worn, all are worn.

2007 jeep compass, 21000 miles, leased vehicle. speedometer and odometer stopped working, auto locks not working, em brake light on, brake is not, abs light on, 4wd light on

leased? take that thing back and dispute that it is not safe to drive. they need to do a complete check up on that vehicle. it could be as little as the the dash malfunctuning, to brake broken and 4wd broken. which idk how that would even be possible. at 21000 miles it may still be under warrenty and there is prob something writen into the lease about problems like this. please go to your dealer

You have to look under the car and see if the cable is broken. If it is'nt then it has to be ajusted.
