A fan has failed--possibly is just dirty. I think there are 3 of them--2 near the lamp and one behind the DMD module. If not--check the fan connectors and make sure they are tight. if all ok--a fan needs replaced.

This TV is about 16 mpnths old. It has generated a message on the screen. "CHECK FAN NO 2". I can't find any mention in the user manual supplied with the TV

Inside the tv there are 2 fans for cooling the electronics power boards. One of them has failed.
Open the back of the tv , locate and replace it.

CHECK FAN 2 DISPLAYS ON TV - 2 MINS LATER SWITCHES OFF

Normally we replace the fan because it can't run at the correct speed and the Micro detects that, then sends the error to the screen for you to see.

Check fan # 2

Samsung Consumer LCD tv's do not have fans except on the higher end models. The Commercial models do. Yours is a Consumer model. I suspect that you have a DLP tv. In that case replace the Lamp Fan. It is the Larger of the three fans. With the rear cover off, you will see a Blue switch lever on the lower right side of the tv. Hold it in a up position and turn "on" the set with your tv remote. Then look for any fan that is not running. Then order that fan. there is a large fan that cools the Lamp. The other fans are of the same smaller size and one cools the DND chip and the other cools the Ballast.
