I have cleaned the canister and just bought a new HEPA filter and beat thr hell out of the foam filter. If I detach the hose, the clogged light goes off. When I attach the hose, the clogged light comes back on. I tried dropping a butter knife through the hose to knock loose any clog that might be inside, not much came out. If I press the end of the hose against my palm there feels to be a lot of suction but it won't even pick up a cheerio off a hardwood floor. I'm out of ideas onwhere else to look for a clog or other steps I could try. I appreciate any suggestions, I really don't want to buy a new vacuum. Thank you.
SOURCE: no suction
the hose can clog up insid where you cant see it my husband takes it off and runs water thru it to flush stuff out lets it dry then reconnects it
SOURCE: No Suction ARGH!
on the backside you will see a clear type of hose towards the bottom coming up the back.thats your intake hosethats whats clogged.you will see a connector that its connected to.on the connetor there is a screw, take the screw out and pull the connector away from the cack.take a coat hanger and bend the end so its round and work it down into the intake hose ,you should be able to push the clog out through the bottom.be carefull not to puncture the hose

I finally got out a flat head screwdriver and took off the hard plastic part (wand?) that curves, that connects to the hose. Once detached, low and behold, it was stuffed full . cleared it all out and now the vacuum runs like new again. :) Thank you to everyone for their tips, it inspired me to not give up.
