Question about Targus Stow-N-Go AKP01US Keypad

Stow n go wireless keypad

I purchased this wireless keyboard in order to write a composition in Spanish. I have a laptop and need an extra keypad in order to make the letters with accents in the spanish language. Normally, I can push the alt key, hold it down and then type on the kepad the series of numbers that would make the o with the accent over it come up, but with this targus keypad, it is not working. Is there a solution? Is there a way to make letters with accents over them for Spanish with this wirelee kepad?

Keyboard spanish

If your main input language is Spanish you should use a Spanish keyboard (Spain, Argentina, etc.) Bu if you need tildas infrequently, you may find it easier to have a list of ASCII codes for the letters that require a tilda. With the ASCII codes you type ALT + code.
Another possibility id the installation of a virtual Spanish keyboard which you will pull down to select the special letters.

I can not type anything, sign up. the key pad is confusing tyoing dfferent things

Your keyboard has a "keypad-lock" key, to switch the keys from typing letters to typiing numbers in a layout like an adding machine.

Or, since Windows supports "foreign" keyboards (German, Spanish, French, Norwegian), where the layout of the keys is different, use the "Regional" settings inside "Control Panel" to select the "USA English" input-method.

Sounds like the windows key is stuck down, pressing start+r opens run, start+e opens explorer etc. The start key being the one between control and alt.

Certain letters are not working

When keys go faulty the entire keypad needs replacing. You can't replace individual keys. I would suggest contacting dell and ordering a new keyboard, it's an easy fix: http://www.essortment.com/articles/install-replacement-keyboard-dell-inspiron_102151.htm
If you need to purchase one, I did locate: http://yallstore.com/laptop-keyboard-replacement-for-dell-inspiron-1525-p-4228.html For $16

I need to change fron spanish to English keyboard

Hi is the keyboard itsedlf Spanish or just the local set to Spanish? If its a Spanish keyboard on your laptop it could be expensive to change and certainlynot easy on a laptop, If its the locale settings under a Windows o/s then goto control panel, regional & language, and set your keyboard to English under there.
Hope this helps

on your keypad there is a button ' fn' (normaly on near the windows key, blue in colour) which when pressed along with another one on the keypad (somewhere in the top row of the keypad) activates this function, what you have to do is a press these two key again simultaneously to de-activate this function. the second button or key will most likely be paired with one of the f_ keys
