Sounds like a main system control memory IC fault. Contact any service technician, or the authorized service center for Sansui.

My Technika TV model X22/14C-GW-TCD-UK loses all of its channels when I turn it off. I have to retune everytime I turn the TV back on, Any Ideas welcome, many thanks

All sets use a eprom in some form or another that stores the memory of what up/down channels are programmed into the memory of the set-I will presume no box is used in line with this set for signal---very rare for this problem to even happen---next try when turn on to direct enter a known channel and see if set goes there--then manually add it in the menu---if set does not lose that memory at worst you can manually add every channel one at a time.

It wont auto program channels,i have to do manually and when i turn tv off it loses all channels again

The main system memory IC to your TV is faulty. It should be replaced. It is a very small IC, having 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control IC.

We have not had this tv on since went over to digital freeview built in hopwever just put it on and there are no channels stored how do we get channels?

Hello

Your TV has to be initilized. It should be retuned to get the channels memorized in its memory section. Then only you can get the channels stored. Hopes that you have its remote control hanset with you. Replace two new cells in it and proceed the folloing steps. Connect ariel to its back socket before doing these.

[1] Press power button on the front panel of your tv. The initial setup screen appears.

[2] Press Ch+ on the remote control handset or on the front panel of your TV to start auto program, or Ch_ button to exit.

The initial setup screen will appear each time you switch on the tv until you perform autoprogram.
To perform autoprogram again

[1] Press Menu button.

[2] Press to highlight Channel Menu

[3] Press Pr Dn button to hilight cable. Press [+] to select.

[4] Press Prog Up or Prog Dn to hilight On or Off according to how you connected your TV. Press [+] to select.

[5] Press Prg Dn to hilight autoprogram. Press [+] to search for channels.

[6] After autoprogram finishes, press "Menu" again to exit.

TO RESET THE TV TO FACTORY SETTINGS

[1] Turn TV on.

[2] Press and keep hold the "Reset' button on the remote control hanset.

[3] Press and release the "Power button" on the TV front panel. The TV will turn itsef off.

[4] Release "Reset Button" now from your hanset.

These are the processes to be done to either autoprogram or turn it to factory settings. Ok.

How do you set up the scanner to scan police and ems channels

First you'll need a list of frequencies to program. For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, visit:

www.RadioReference.com

Once you've selected your frequencies, power the scanner ON and

1. Press E/PGM to enter the program mode (the scanner turns on the
PGM icon).

2. If the current channel is not the one you want to program, enter the
memory number then press HOLD.

3. Enter the frequency including the decimal point, then press E/PGM.

4. To program the next memory, press or and repeat step 3. To
program a different memory, repeat from step 2.

5. To exit program mode, press HOLD or SCAN or change the scanner’s mode.

Notes:
• Any frequency you program replaces the previous memory contents.
• If you enter a frequency you have already stored in a different
memory in Step 3, the scanner beeps and displays the channel
where you have previously stored the frequency. If you want to store
the frequency anyway, press E/PGM a second time in Step 3.
• To clear the contents of a memory, enter “0” in Step 3.
• Channels you program are automatically unlocked (see
“Locking/Unlocking Memories) and have Delay turned on (See
“Setting Channel Delay”).

TV will not turn on to channel 4 everytime. I have a cable box and need the tv to remain on channel 4.

As long as the tv is not unplugged it should stay on the same channel when turned back on. If you have the tv plugged into the cable box, when the box is shut off it basically unplugs your tv and the tvs memory is reset. The tv should be plugged in to its own outlet or leave the cable box on and turn off the tv. If you turn everything on, cable box and tv, and have a picture, go into the tv menu and auto program the channels, it should only lock in on channel 4 since it will be the only channel the tv will receive.

Time TV

By saying that volume and picture controls work, do you mean you can access the TV's onscreen menu? If so, you may need to re-scan for available channels if you are using the TV's internal tuner. If the memory of those channels has been lost, the TV does not know where to "look" for a signal. You may also need to perform a power drain:

1. Unplug the product's power cable so that the device is not grounded to the house. Do not simply turn off the power-bar if one is in use.
2. Press and hold in the products power button for 1 minute to release the retained electricity from the capacitors and circuit board.
3. Plug the product back into the wall outlet rather than a power-bar to rule it out of contributing to the problem and turn the device back on. After this step, try the channel scan again if it didn't resolve the issue the first time.
