I formated my laptop, and now i can not get the wireless connection. My friend told me that i had to get the driver from to do it manualy but i can not find it any where. I already have a wireless modem, and it use to pick up the internet just fine before I formated it. Can you help me?
Yup, you need to drivers to do so....
On the bottom of the laptop you should be able to find your specific model/product number.
Visit this link - http://h18000.www1.hp.com/cpq_support.html
Under SELECT TASK, choose software and driver downloads... then enter that number in the box below that. This will list the drivers specific to your notebook. I'd look for you to see if they were listed, but obviously I dont have your product number.
If you have allready tried this, and couldnt find it, please reply with your product/model number. And I will find it for you or give you further instruction.
Also, please dont vote yet until the problem has been solved... thanx and let me know if this works for you.
You need the number off the bottom of the laptop. It will be something like V2010US or V2022AP ... it may not be that exact number but it will look similar. And be on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop.
Take that number and use it as I explained in my last reply. It's quite simple. Click that link above.... #1 choose drivers and downloads and #2 enter your number in the empty box... click the arrow to the right of the box... then choose your operating system on the next page that comes up... drivers will be listed according to category. In the network section of the list you will find the wireless drivers.
if you want, you can download onto your desktop... dont install it on your desktop though... and then burn it off onto a cd, and put that cd into your laptop and install it on your laptop.
