SOURCE: Hi I have a wharfedale

Hello,
Unfortunately, there are many ipod docks that are not compatible with the full range of ipod generations. Usually the case is that on older docks newer ipods dont work and vice versa.
Hopefully this helps

You can get your wire from a shop which sells mobile accessories or sound accessories.
try asking them for 3.5mm audio jack.
this will not cost more the rs.50 or $1.
or just take your damaged wire to those mentioned shop and ask for the new one!

best of luck!

Checking ipod connection

Check the pins on the inside of the Ipod and the dock. It could be making contact with the power pins but not the send receive pins. Small pin will help you bend these out gently to make contact again.

nothing is wrong with the woofer the connect is broken at the strain relief and the cable needs to be replaced.
You can replace the connector if you know the pinouts. You will need the connector and the schematic.
you may be able to find the pin outs configuration here.

As for the connector this may take a search online.

My teac micro hi-fi system CD-X10i doesnt work

many units have a fuse inside the back cover near where the power cable comes in. be careful to replace it with the same size fuse as the problem that blew the fuse might still be there and could potentially cause a fire.

I have the same unit and i am looking for help because the cd will not run (wont spin the cd), but the door works. also the FM reception sucks.

IH36 iHome degrading

The problem is that the flat flexible cable which connects the dock to the main unit is breaking. After taking mine apart(!), I found that the point at which the cable connects to the main unit is flexed very strongly each time the dock is opened. Each time the dock opens & closes, it gets worse.

Replacement is a 260mm, 12 pin, 1mm pitch, flat flexible cable, AWM 20624 80c VW-1. I have yet to locate a supplier of this cable.

Sub Woofer to Sound Dock

Well if you are talking about the iM600 sounddock from Altec Lansing, the short answer is no. If you want better bass from an IPOD docking system you'll need to buy an expensive component from say Scandyna Dock or you could build one yourself. You would need an integrated amp or a complete system like the NAD C71. This would allow you to plug in a self-powered sub.
