I downloaded the lastest and greatest driver from driverguide.com and now the camera card works in the compact flash slot. Now life can go on as normal. birds will chirp and rain will fall in troubleshooter land because now all has been put right once again, but then again nothing technical works without solving underlying problems so stay alert because nothing lasts forever! OK, stop goofing off and get back to work! 8-)
I purchased a VeriFone 11 Mbps 802.11b Wireless Compact Flash Adapter card for my Axim X5. I put the disc and the wifi card in my laptop and I can get on the internet. But can't seem to get it going in the Axim. It always reads "Unrecognized Card". Tried ActiveSynce and putting the drivers on a different Flash card. No luck..
The Axim X5 can only go up to Windows Mobile 2003 (Mobile 5 is the one after this).
My suggestion is sell the REALLY great Socket card and get one that works with your X5 (you have either Pocket PC 2002 or Windows Mobile 2003) If you Ebay search Dell TrueMobile, you'll find the card that works with either.
I need mine too, so it looks like we'll have a bidding war.
Actually the reason why it's saying that is because that card is not compatible with the Dell Axim X5 because if it was you wouldn't get that response. I'm still looking for a Wi-Fi card for mine as well because I ordered the P500 Wi-Fi compact flash card from Dell then come to find out it wasn't compatible with the Axim X5, it was discontinued.
If you are referring to the difference between Compact Flash and Secure Digital memory, then there is no difference, except the format. By providing two different memory slots, you are able to install more memory, or use one slot for memory, while using the second slot for other peripherals, like network cards, modems, or wireless cards.
just a guse but the batery looks to have enouth mA to run a CF 802.11b card and an sd blue touth card
i think if you will be connected to a network or a wifi connection i would invest the money in the 3400MAH insted of the 1440MAH.
