The dial on the washing spins freely. After running last cycle, found the knob just spinning freely. Can no longer push the knob in - select cycle - pull the knob out and start the machine. Opened the housing and know that the timing mechanism is sealed, but can't even figure out how to get the knob off. To replace the timing mechanism costs about $150 for do-it-yourself...but if can't get the knob off, can't replace the timer...seems like the problem is with the knob not the whole mechanism. What is the big secret about getting the knob off the timing system?
