1. Go to: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP01&prd_ia_cd=06010200&prd_mdl_cd=CLP-315%2FXAA&prd_mdl_name=CLP-315&prd_ia_sub_class_cd=P 2. Under the "Downloads" tab, click "Driver". 3. Scroll through the list of drivers. Select & download the one that matches your operating system.
ean_inkrefills on ebay. Search on the terms "samsung clp 315 toner refill solution". Chip installs on the printer motherboard--installation is not overly difficult, but still not for the faint-hearted. I expect it voids the printer warranty. Ean gives good email support.
SPL stands for "Samsung Printer Language". You are using an USB cable that is either too long (above 6 ft.) or too thin (cheap cables).
The reason why the test page prints is because it is a very simple and small page (thinking on kbyte terms). But larger streams of data do not arrive correctly due to attenuation and the error page prints instead.
If it is absolutely necessary to connect beyong 6 ft, you need either a good quality USB cable (try the Belkin brand found at OfficeMax), or connect using a parallel cable.
