Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-60XBR950 60" Rear Projection HDTV
Tv was 1 year old and we were told the bulb was the problem. technichian changed out the bulb. It worked for a day or so then went out from time to time. It stopped being tempermental all by itself and 1 year later same problem is back. Repair at the stores tell us it is the bulb again. Bought a replacement bulb. Put it in: doesn't work. we took a hair dryer (No heat) to blow any dust out. Still nothing. Help. This is getting very expensive for a TV only 2 years old.
When the senior service tech changed our bulb, I watched very carefully, and he said there is an electrical contact towards the rear of where the bulb goes in that bends very easily and that care is required not to damage or bend that connector. His assistant tech then bent the thing, and the senior tech had to straighten it out properly. All the while, he talked about how delicate this connector is. Hope this is helpful to you. It sounds like what he was talking about.
