You will have to open the door, and remove the inner door panel to remove the outside door handle. I would suggest getting another door handle from a wrecking yard if the new one is expensive. I hope I could help. Thanks

You can get it open in two ways: By using your key fob and remotely opening latch or by pulling inside panel on rear hatch and manually pulling lever to get latch to release. Most times when you cant get rear hatch to open normally is because cable from outside release handle to latch broke. Have cable and release mechanism inspected and replace worn or broken parts as needed.
Are you saying the inside door handle isnt snapped, but the door wont open by pulling on the inside door handle or is it the outside door handle thats not working??Both the inside and outside door handle has a spring and other components on the backside of the handle which cant really be seen unless you remove the whole door handle assembly. One of these components are most likely broken or the rod that attaches between each handle and the locking mechanism(part that locks into the door striker to keep the door closed and releases it too)might have come loose from the back of the handle. The outside handle is usually mounted to the door by pop rivets or bolts/nuts.The inside handle is usually mounted with screws, but it really depends on what kind of car youre driving.Youll probably have to remove the handle to inspect it for damage.Open the door and watch the locking mechanism for movement while youre pulling on the door handle. If it doesnt move when you pull on the handle, the handle is definitely broke or the rod has come loose from the back of the handle.
You would need to take the pannel off to get to the internal part of the mechanism. Something has broken or come apart in the opening mechanism. I'd let it go if considering replacing.
door handle broke depends on what door handle it is.if door cant be open on out side out side door handle broke.if cant open door on inside inside door handle broke.door handle clip that connects to latch rod broken.when you try open door handle not engage to latch rod.door not going open.have to replace door handle with new clip holds latch rod in place.
Fortunately, it means that the mechanicals of the door opening device are working right, if you can open from the inside. The rigid wire that connects the outside handle to the door opening mechanism became loose, or a plastic connector broke. Disassemble the door panel, reach the handle from the inside, and see if there is a thin rod dangling somewhere, and if not broken, just put it back in place.
Same problem. I have a 2000 Suzuki Esteem GL. A year ago the driver's door handle broke. Heard a sound and then it was loose. Could not open it from outside. Had to open front passenger door, open the driver's door from inside and then go out again to enter from the driver's door. FRUSTRATING. My mechanic had to take the door apart to fix it. Just a week ago, my front passenger door died on me. Can't open it from outside nor inside. The door won't open. This is such a stupid problem that costs lots to repair. Never will buy a Suzuki again. Had too many problems with it (had to fix gas tank, doors that won't open, front axle...).
I had the same on my 2003 accent on all three doors but I finally decide to do somenthing on my driver side since is a dragg having to open it from the passanger side. So this is what I did I took the pannel screws off and since I could'nt take off the window opener handle I just spin the door cover around enough to get to the two screws holding the outside handle once I was able to pull out I disconnecte the wire clip so can remove and work on it outside..
Once I had it outside I saw that the plastic part that broke in half was busted I put some JB weld to put together of course that didnot work on the first try busted again lucky for me I was an expert taking the whole thing out again this time in five minutes. the second time I drill a small hole on both of the broken parts and run a wire between both and just make sure when your try in it that the wire doesnot touch in between and does no get stuck. I Put everthing back together and it work so great that I can really pull on the handle and you can just feel the tension. Thats how all my handles broke by pull in on them real hard especially when there lock.....hope this help... I might fix the other two once I findout how to remove the window handle since it would be easier...
