Removing split screen

To remove split screen: From the View tab in the menu bar at the top of screen, uncheck "Split View".

Go to ControlePanel/Monitor. Here you will find menu for disconnecting Split Screen.
How is depending on which Edition of windows you are using.

Depending of the type of computer you might be able to do it just activating the buttons fn/f4 - IT MIGHT WORK ON YOUR COMPUTER.

If you go to the top left hand side it will show one panel ( the one you are not currently in), you can then right click with the mouse and close it.

Either that or use the desktop screen instead of the normal Windows 8.1 screen. Click on the desktop icon in the start-up page.

It will be the cable for the screen i have had to do a few of these, the cable snaps on the hinge, you will need to replace this cable they dont cost to much. take the screws out of the back of the laptop and remove the key pad then the top cover, you will then see the cable /s unplug them and on the back unplug the wifi wires and remember what way they go, push them through the hole so they are on the top. undo the screws for the hinges and carefully remove the screen from the base. now you will need to take the rubbers off the . screen lid and undo the screws and split the cover seam, when it come apart you will see where the wire is and replace it, you will find a few of the wires on the cable have split. there are two types of cables one type is for if you have web came and other is for no web cam. you need the cable that is right for your screen. put back together in reverse and it should be fine put a bit of grease on the cable were the bend is in the cable around the hinge will help it no split so easy. hope this helps.

I think the 'split screen is actually your wallpaper
To find out if I'm right - if you right click the desktop - choose properties, then desktop.
On the right side of the window that opens - look at the middle button, it probably says Tile. click the arrow to the right and choose Center. Now click O.K.
Your wallpaper should now be one 'screen' probably with a coloured border around it.

Try to turn off the pc and remove the cables and battery on the laptop. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, then reinsert the battery and the cables on the pc. Turn on your laptop and check if the screen will finally splits sucessfully...

yes you can replace the screen yourself but it can be quite difficult, you have to remove the panel accross the top of the keyboard, remove the keyboard and unplugg the monitor plug and wireless ariel wires locate the screws that holds the lid to the base and unscrew, remove lid.
Now you have to unscrew the bezel (front plastic cover) the screws are located under the rubber screw covers, take care when splitting the bezel from the lid, (use a small flat head screwdriver if you have to), this will exspose the screen itself, disconnect the power plug, behind the screen you will find a ribbon cable remove this cable with great care................ job done! now you can replace the screen and put it all back together
If you think that this could be difficult for you, them i suggest a repair engineer to do the job for you but it will cost

Try with EXTERNAL monitor...Remove MAIN BATTERY RAM AND CMOS BATTERY then see if it works!
