How to change my recorded greeting on kx-tg6431

You can change your answering system message by pressing Menu (with the phone in standby). Then use the up/down arrows to select Answering Device and press Select. Navigate to Greeting Message and press Select again. Then navigate to Record Greeting. Use the up/down arrows to select Yes. Wait for the beep and speak your greeting. Then press Stop when your message is done; the system will stop recording after two minutes. Press Off to exit the menu system. Your greeting will be played if the Answering system is on and the greeting message time is not set to "Greeting Only". You can also access the Record Greeting sub-menu by pressing the following keys Menu # 3 0 2 .

See page 32 of the manual for more on recording a greeting. The manual is available from Panasonic here: https://panasonic.encompass.com/shop/model_research_docs/?file=/MSC/om/KXTG6431T.pdf . You can also see more about the phone's menu on pages 20-23.

I hope this helps.

We have a business panasonic xdp system and are unable to change the greeting message. How do we access this initial contact message. We are able to change individual mail boxes on the system.

Assuming you dial 165 to get to the voice mail system (a TVS type box) you press #6 * 998. You better know the password if it asks and you need to know where the greeting was recorded. It sits either in a Custom Service box (1-100) or a Company Greeting (1-32).

I'd be hoping that someone left a TVS Installation and Programming manual with cheat notes lying around. If not, there's a way into the TVS via a terminal program and the DB-9 serial connector on the box. That will let you read the database.

Your Panasonic installer/dealer might have the passwords and setup in their records.

How do I change the message... we set it a few years ago...can't find book

Oops, I posted the info for this on the VTech problem below sorry.

To change the message, first make sure your phone has the correct date, time, year, am or pm, etc.

Now, to Record Greeting - if you don't record your own greeting, a pre-recorded greeting message is used.

So, try this:

1. (Menu) press
2 (Go to Answering Device" with up/down arrow, press OK
3 (Go to "Record Greeting" with up/down arrow, press OK
4 After the handset beeps, speak clearly about 20 cm (8 inches) away from the
microphone.
5 To stop recording, press (OK)
6 (OFF)

Hope this helps.

IF you know the password for the mailbox then log into the voicemail by dialing the Stratagy access code, after Stratagy answers dial * , then your user ID mailbox number plus #, then your security code plus #. The User Main Menu plays, press 2 to change your greeting, the Select Greeting Menu plays, press the greeting number, the Record Menu plays, press 2 to record your greeting, Record greeting, as soon as you finish press #, the Record Greeting Menu plays, press 1 to review or 2 to re-record.
