On some older models, there is a sliding switch on the bottom edge of the control panel that turns it off. I've seen these on older Amanas, but not sure about others.
In newer models, they have some kind of help key which will get to to a menu which will turn it off.
Other models in between usually don't have that feature. In such cases, I as a technician have removed the beeper or taped over it to make it quieter, or even lifted one leg of a resistor attached to the beeper.
Someone less technical or less patient could just push the beeper sideways until it snaps off. No more beeps! *grin* And really, it is much weaker than the circuit board so it's a viable, if inelegant solution.
