Nintendo 64 GameShark won't recognize my memory card

So I bought a GameShark Pro v3.3 to back-up my memory card to another. But the GameShark won't read my memory card... It says that it needs to be formatted. But I have 2 others memory cards that the GameShark reads fine. One of them took a couple tries though. All of them are Nintendo brand memory cards. The memory card that the GameShark won't recognize works fine with any other game though. When I go to the memory card manger without the GameShark, all my saved files show up and work fine. Should I try buying an older GameShark?? Or will I just have to live without backing up all my old game data?? Thanks.

SOURCE: how do i insert memory card into nintendo 64?

The memory card plugs into the back of the controller.. i believe. No you do not need a memory card to play games, but you want one if you want to save your progress in games. Without a memory card to save progress, you will have to start a game over everytime you want to play it.

I am sorry I don't know what the expansoin pack is.... maybe a memory card, or rumble pack.

SOURCE: how does it work?

put in oe of the working games and go to keycodes hit the A button and you can scroll through a list of games that need keycodes. Select the game and then turn your N64 off and then put the game you selected in the gameshark and turn it back on, it should now work

SOURCE: I put my gameshark on

I know mine didn't work,so i took it to a pro. He cleaned i thoroughly and it worked after that.He said 6 out of 10 of them are dead , but luckily mine just had really dirty contacts, top and bottom. So I'd recommend taking it to a pro, but first try different games with it ,sometimes it just gets stuck on a keycode.

Set it to diddy. Can't remember the rest, but just scroll through it all and find one that says diddy, and it works.

Nintendo 64 Gameshark boots up with 1 game

after you load up 007 you must go to key codes to select your game. Then you turn it off and put that game in. It wont start again if you put the wrong game in so dont screw up. Then you can select cheat codes.
