Usually caused by the rubber perishing on the print wheels or the hammer mechanism failing. These printers don't last a long time. They are very cheap for a reason. You could try cleaning the rubber print wheels but normally, the whole printer would be replaced
All you have to do is open the top cover and let the printer unit move at the center then pull knob towards you it locks to access the print/daisy wheel, remove it and replace it with the better one.Push the knob back.xerox 6010 automatically senses the home positin of the print wheel.
The font and size are determined by the print wheel. If you want a different font or size, you must change print wheels. It is very easy to do.... Open the top cover and pull back gently on the print hammer (sometimes has orange arrows) The print wheel is directl;y in front of the hammer and gently pull it straight up. When replacing the print wheel just remember to pull the hammer back slightly so the wheel can clear.
Linda,
Depending on what make and model you have it could be several things. The newer TW's use a print wheel which has to home itself each time the power is turned on. This tells the print motor how far to turn for the correct letter. Make sure there is no debris and everything is seated properly... platen, print wheel, etc.
Once again, this depends a lot on what kind of TW you have.
