Audio shuts off after 2 minutes, no sound

When TV is initially turned the audio will go out after about 3 minutes. When you reverse back the sound will stay on for about another 45 seconds then go off. If you shut the TV down, the sound will return again for about 3 minutes then shut down. This problem started about two weeks ago and I have had the TV since October 2013.

It's probably Thermal Runaway' a term used when a electronic component over heats and quits working. Go to Radio Shack and buy a can of freeze spray, Take it down to where you can get to the chassis and when it goes out starting spraying components and when you get the right one the sound will pop back on/ This spray is not flammable and does not conduct electricty. That component will have to be replaced,

SOURCE: My TV pictures turns black afetr a few hours but I still can hear sound perfectly!!!

It sounds like your rptv lamp is going out. If this is an older DLP this is most likely the cause. You can get a replacement at www.laptopsforless.com part number BP96-00224J for $151. If the tv is still under warranty, I would have them do it, otherwise replace it yourself. If so here is a link to give you step by step instruction. Please give me a good rating. ;-)

SOURCE: DLP TV starts to loose picture after 1 - 1/2 hours of use

This tv has a 3 board video path. Analog main pcb --->Digital main pcb --->DMD pcb. see which inputs have the problem to narrow it down. if only some inputs, suspect analog board. if everything flickers(all inputs and menu), suspect the dmd or engine. you can see the lamp shine out the back. if the lamp is flickering, suspect lamp or ballast.

Philips tv with sound going in and out

Try bypassing the set's speaker by running an external audio amp. I use my bookcase stereo for audio direct from the satellite receiver and turn the volume off on the TV. Sounds better this way! Could be the audio amp in the TV is going bad or the speaker may be bad and the TV's audio amp goes through a shut down cycle.

Sound

Hi,

Three (3) possible ways:
1. use the audio out of the TV (if available) which would normally be red/white RCA and connect to any of the free INputs of your DVD surround sound system;
2. remove the cable INput of your TV and feed it to a tuner such as those in a VCR or any other device (some DVDs have TV tuners also). The VCR's Video OUTput would go to your TV while the Audio OUTput would go to any of the free INputs of your DVD surround sound system;
3. if your cable uses a box/decoder and has the yellow, red & white RCA, its a matter of splitting the red/white signal to feed both your TV and DVD surround sound system or simply remove them from the TV and feed them to the DVD surround sound system.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

TV turns off after aboiut 2 hours of uninterrupted play

There is a software patch availabe to increase the thermal cut off temperature. Can only be programmed using the Loewe Cablemax kit. Another solution is that the fans at the back all blow into the tv, reverse one of these fans, this gives a flow through the cavity. Remember to remove the filter from the one you reverse.
