Your centre number is not correct need to ring up your provider and ask them what it is as you wont be able to send texts without it

The 1 signifies it is the US. Whether you dial a 10 digit number or 11 by adding the one yourself the call is made with the 1. It's hidden if it doesn't show. Because cell phones are mobile they require all 10 digits unless you are using assisted dial which will recognize your location and enter the area code and then allow you to just dial the prefix and last 4 digits.
You want the call to go through no matter where you or the person you are calling is located.
for sending text messages : 1.go to your message settings and check the message center number to see if it is correct 2. call to your network operator customer care 3. request the message center number... 4.note it down 5. go to message settings>message center number 6. insert the number which is noted by you and save it

This is because there is option in your mobile called as message service centre number.please check weather this number is correct.Call your service provider and you can get this number.
And also there is an option called as reply via same message centre please put this to 'NO'. now you can send messages

2.open 'messages'
3.Go to 'message settings'
4.in that open 'text message'
5.there is an option called as 'message centre',please entre your new message centre number and save it. set this as your message centre

I have a motorola too. And with that type of phone sometimes you have to text from a different wayt here are the step:
1. punch in the number you want to text(remebering area code so there will be 10 digits)
2. Now you will see a tab that says options click it.
3. Go down to send message
4. then type it in and it should work.
I have the same problem. You have to use the area code, the full 10 digit number. Even the phone numbers stored in your memory need to include the area code for the text to send.
