Try blowing it down with a hair dryer or shaking it out ad gently use a cloth cause something might be sticking to it or inside. (Trust me because the same thing happens with my computer mouse and keyboard). O and it also might be a technology error so maybe reset the device.
Is your xbox 360 modded? If it is, you've been banned from XBOX Live because you were foolish and played backups that weren't stealthed. And your Xbox is banned for LIFE.
Not hard the controllers wireless are all the same. You need a special tool a t8 torq tamper tool go on ebay they have them cheap with that you will be able to swap parts. remember there is one hidden screw in the lower center of the controller under the serial number sticker
I had this same problem with my 360 controller (after modding it, but the solution should be the same..) If you pull up on any 360 joystick it will stick the same way.
The quickest fix would be to take some sandpaper on the inside of where the joystick touches the controller shell, sand it down just enough so the joystick is moving smoothly.
More professional ways would be to cut the little piece of metal that sticks out and goes into the joystick. Just a very small amount, too much will make it hard to press the right thumbstick button. You could also try some old fashioned grease, just a little bit on the inside, nothing noticeable from the outside.
Also make sure the controller is put back together right, I've taken apart many 360 controllers and sometimes joysticks stick when there's a wire in the wrong place and the shell won't close all the way. (The rumble motors particularly). Hope this helped!
