My frigidare affinity shuts down mid cycle , and has to be restarted many times in order to finish a load of clothes

Washer shuts down mid cycle or sooner. this happens randomly , when this happens we have to restart the unit multiple times in order to finish a load of clothes. I replaced the door stiker with a used on from the repair shop already. The unit does not display any codes when this happens

Remove top of washer by removing screws in back of top. You should see the tech sheet. Use this to retrieve any error codes.
A common problem with these is a bad door switch. (The part the strike goes into. If this is the case you should come up with error code for it.

Testimonial: "The origanal striker on the door broke off while being moved. I replaced the sriker itself with a used striker and we still have the issue. When the unit shuts down , the screen just goes blank like it is shut off , it does not throw any error codes at all when this happens"

IF there is an E attached to the 45, it is your control board and the control board would need to be replaced. This is per the "Washer Tech Data Sheet"Hope that helps...

SOURCE: Affinity E21 error

E21 means "Not pumping out fast enough". Could be debris caught in the pump inlet sump or pump body.
Disconnect the inlet sump from the pump. Disconnect the outlet hose from the pump. Remove the (2) screws, one on each side, holding the pump housing to the washer base. Unplug the wires from the pump motor and lift the pump assembly out.

first try the simple step, unplug unit for 60 secounds, then replug unit back up. reset load and see if that works. let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Good Morning Friend,

I see that your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# ATF7000E, is buzzing and will not cycle. Some possible causes of this could be:

-Your washer is overloaded with clothes. Try taking some clothes out and restarting.
-There could be an article of clothing that might have slipped in between the gasket and the drum that might be stopping the drum from spinning. Check to see if there are any clothes that might be missing and possibly stuck between the drum and gasket.

If you have tried the above solutions and are still having trouble, I suggest giving your washer a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker for 2-3 minutes. After the time has passed, restore power and start a cycle. If your appliance is still buzzing and not spinning, I suggest that you contact your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your washer and determine the cause of the buzzing and why it is not spinning. Hope this is helpful.

You need to replace the door lock mechansim. Fairly easy to do yourself, just pull the spring strap off the rubber door gasket and remove 2 screws holding door lock. Install new door lock and re-install door gasket and spring strap, and WALLA! she works:)

If you open the top of the washer , there is a "tech" sheet in there to tell you how to reset the error codes.

My washer started this. Then stopped spinning. Now it will not even wash a load. It stops mid-cycle. The ER 20 means that something is not draining right. We checked all of the tubes leading to the pump. Nothing was clogged. The technition seems to think it is a motor controller error.

Cloths were soaked !Won't restart, door locks and you hear a buzzind sound ??

Greetings JohnnyWrench,

Information provided by the manufacturer would indicate a few things possibly causing this:

1) Washer was overloaded, remove some of the clothes and continue the cycle.

2) Washer load was too small. Add 1 or 2 similiar items to help balance the load.

3) Load is out of balance, rearrange clothes to allow for more balanced spin.

4) Drain hose might be kinked, straighten drain hose.
