    Yeah, I have a problem that was similair to that description, I thought it might be a virus that was downloaded on accident, but since I'm not the only one, I don't know what it could be.

I am having the same problem. I tried this solution but the program just said "no valid device appears to be connected." My Sansa is definitely connected physcially to the USB. What's next?

Try this;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.

Sansa wont work

Download the Sansa firmware upgrader and install it first. Then, hold in the volume + button on your Sansa player and connect the Sansa to your computer (while it is in the OFF position). The computer will recognize the player after you continue holding the volume + button for 5-50 seconds. Restart your computer. You will lose all files stored on the Sansa, but it will work again.

My sansa wont boot up

The best results that I have had were to hold the power button for about 15 seconds. ( if you only hold it for 3 seconds it goes into sleep mode). This shuts the device off. Then restart it.
