First plug the power plug into the mega drive and turn it on (there should be a red light showing that the megadrive is on)

Plug RF lead into the back of the mega drive and TV and make sure the switch is set at the megadrive side and not the ariel side, if you have a switch.

Now turn off mega drive, put a game into the slot and and then turn the console on.

Select a channel on your TV and tune it into the mega drive.

This should work.

Help! My Sega-Mega CD won't work. The MegaDrive works just fine (I played a game on it just 5 minutes ago) but the Mega CD won't even start. I've set it all up, referred to the manual and reset it and done...

the fuse has probably gone in it, thats a common problem with the sega cd's, you will have to replace the fuse on it, try looking up "sega cd model 2 fuse repair" in google and there should be some info/video's on the net to help you ;) I only know because I have the same problem lol

Sega megadrive 2 never comes to black screen just snowstorm

Ensure that the switch on the back of the unit is set to channel 3 or 4, and that your TV is tuned to this channel. Additionaly, make sure that the rf switch is properly wired in to your television and that no wires have come loose or fallen out.

Sega megadrive 2 that wont load

Just keep fiddling with it. I kept messing with the video cable, where it plugs into the back of the console. I got the "Licensed by Sega, etc." message for a few seconds before it went black again, turned it off, pulled out the cartridge then slammed it back in. Now all of the few carts I own are working with the console.

How do i connect a sega mega drive 2 to a tv?

use the RF lead (plugs into the mini din at the back of the megadrive)
if you don't have the lead you might want to look at ebay for a replacement
of if you don't want the hastle of tuning your megadrive into your tv you could buy a scart lead from www.retro-cache.com

With my sega megadrive11 system when tuned in only sound comes no picture

Hi Wisebear,

First It maybe your TV not tuning in properly.
to try this go to your TVs Tuning menu and select manual tuning and fine tune around the sound and see if this helps...

second it may be the lead (worn wire) and not enough signal getting through, so you need a new cable

you may just want to upgrade to a scart lead
www.retro-cache.com
sells the scart lead for Megadrive 2's and soon will be doing Megadrives 1's as well, both RGB.

Sega genesis

don't panic
sometimes the LED goes on the Megadrive
so try to tune it in anyway. (clean a game and put it in)
also sometimes you can get a "Dry joint" at the power port at the back of the megadrive.
this is fixed by unscrewing the megadrive and a little solder on the each of the 3 joints.
