Fuller brush mini vac has a rubber burning smell

Has a smelly rubber burning smell

There are two reasons for a smell from anything with a motor, the first the motor is under extreme load, see the vac has nothing jammed in it's intake, second the motor is not good and is taking extreme current, try letting motor spin with no belts attached, is there any smell after 5 minutes, if not motor O.K.

Eureka maxima vacuum smokes and smells like rubber burning..whats wrong with it..the brush turns but seems like its blowing outwards too

when you get a burning rubber smell, the drive belt is usually slipping on the motor due to friction on the brushes. Remove the belt and free all the tangled hair to allow the brushes to rotate very easily and then put a new belt on.

Burning smell Kenmore 50558

If the burning smell is an electrical smell it could be motor or wiring problems which are best handled by a professional. If it smells like burning rubber it is probably the belt. If it smells like burnt wood it could be the belt slipping on the brush roll, if the brush roll is made of wood. Dust and debris can also accumulate behind the end caps of the brush roll causing friction which can cause a burning wood smell.

I have a vax bagless upright mach 5 no power at all

usually...burt rubber smells indicate burning rubber.... the belt will get hot and smell like this if the brush rollers are hard to turn due to hair or string getting caught in the roller and especially at the ends of the roller where the axle of the roller meets the vacuume cleaner .... ya gotta take the whole brush off and clean it... if you use it on damp floors ( like carpet where snow was tracked in) the metal parts can rust and cause it to bind. if the vac no longer turns on at all.... you probably blew an internal fuze (if it has one) or burnt out the wiring..... fuzes are replaceable but wires require a vacuume cleaner repair person.

That means that the belt is stretched and it is slipping on the motor shaft, that is why it is hot and smells like burning rubber. You need to replace the belt. Here is the correct belt you need:

Brush does not turn when vac touches floor

You need to change the belt. The belt will not turn the brush roll and is slipping on the drive shaft. This is creating the burning smell you describe.
You say you just brought it home. From where? From repair or is this a new machine.

Bissell Cleanwell II Bagless uprighht vacuum

Hi Pmob20,

Remove the brush and clean all the string or whatever may be trapped at the end edges of the brush.  This is usually the case with Bissel vacs, that string or fiber gets trapped at the ends of the brush assembly.
