DVD error? won't "Burn" here is a tip

1) Shut down ALL unnecessary processes, especially McAfee, and any other "Hungry" processes.
2) Switch to white-coated DVDs. You see, drives that write to DVD-ram as well as other formats need the "White-coated" DVDs (Sony are good, but any others the same will be OK), as opposed to the "Silver-coated" ones (Verbatim, Memorex, HP). (Use Nero, Info Tool, to diagnose your DVD drive.)
3) Changed burn speed to 4x.

My asus x50gl will not play cds or dvds

Try reseatting the DVD/CD drive also reinstall the DVD/CD driver.
If this does not fix the problem then most likely the DVD/CD drive is faulty and then needs to be replaced.

JVC Everio MS100RU memory camcorder. When burning to a DVD, I get an error at about 99-100% and it will not complete. The error code is EB020B88. Any ideas?

1) I shut down ALL unnecessary processes, especially McAfee

2) I switched to white-coated DVDs. I read somewhere (can't now find the url), that drives that write to DVD-ram as well as other formats need the white-coated DVDs (I used Sony), as opposed to the silver-coated ones (Verbatim, Memorex, HP. [I used Nero, Info Tool, to diagnose my DVD drive.]

3) Changed burn speed to 4x.

American DVDs unable to play for my PS3

At this time the region lock on ps3 only includes DVD and ps1-2 titles. Although some games will have the 80028F10 error. Most ps3 and blue ray will play without problems, my only suggestion being that if you are in the US, make sure you get a US ps3.

hope this helps.

My PS2 Slim plays music, black and blue discs, but doesn't play silver discs nor DVDs.

Is this a new problem or has your PS2 always had this issue? You cannot adjust the laser at all and are likely to damage it if you try, you can however clean the laser lens with a CD/DVD cleaning disk and you'd be surprised how often this resolves disk read issues. Some of these units did have a production fault that prevented them from reading DVD's, if your PS2 has had this fault since new and/or is under 12 months old you could probably have had it repaired/replaced by Sony but by opening it you will have invalidated you're warranty.
