Electrical system and cable from cable company was struck by lightening.
Yamaha HTR 5650's front panel will light up and inputs can be selected. However, inputs from cable, DVD, CD, tuner, etal will not produce sound to speakers. Components have been checked against a working receiver and are functioning. Speakers have been checked and are functioning.
Cannot find a fuse(s) for speaker output in the case. Are they fused??
Any suggestions/solutions or should I contact the repair guy??

Re: No output from outputs to speakers.
Usually the outputs are not fused, but you can go thur speaker white noise test and see if that works first. If it does, then outputs are probably fine, IF not then the output transistors are most likely bad. Let me know and we can try some other things thur live chat if you would like. Good luck Guru Jay

Some features do not give surround sound such as tuner. If input cables attached to analog dtv/cbl and speaker cables attached to wire end output serround should work fine when set to dtvcbl on front display.
1 Hold down STEREO on the Front Panel
"Factory Preset" appears on the front panel
2 Press STEREO to select the desired setting.
'Reset' To reset to factory presets
'Cancel' to cancel without making changes
3 Press STANDBY/ON to confirm your selection
You may need to enable the fixed audio output line level from the TV. Some TV`s require you to enter the AUDIO menu/setup selection on the TV remote controller, and then enable the AUDIO OUTPUT Jacks, this will turn off the TV built in speakers and engage the audio RCA Jacks.
I have the same issue if I connect my digial audio cable from the Yamaha receiver directly to the HDTV. But, I get all 6 speakers working when I connect the Yamaha receiver directly to the Comcast HD box (instead of TV).
Select different modes on the remote or front panel and make sure all speaker that you have hooked up are showing on display. Are the Lt & Rt channels at least playing audio? If you want, i can step you thur some steps to try in live chat if you want today. Let me know as i have experience in this area! Sincerely Guru Jay
