Type: 2000 Mitsubishi OBD P1400
There is a lot for you to read
Then have a repair shop properly test the vehicle
& make the repairs
The free code read at the parts store is a waste of your time
If you want buy a cheap code reader at auto zone, but understand why you have it & study OBD2 Systems & it will only read Generic Codes & a few others, always need professional software to look at data, road test with it & more
Codes usually have nothing to do with the need to install parts
You can have codes stored, lots of them & no check light on
your dash, you can have problems & no codes, but need the scan tool & other reference material & test euipment

Get your VIN and go to a dealership. If you ask real nice they will probably give you the code to unlock your radio for free.
SOURCE: 2000 eclipse gt getting a po1400 code and car does
PO1400 is not a common code. PO140 however is. PO140 is a oxygen sensor problem, it refers to bank 1 sensor 2 having no activity. This could cause your eclipse to not hold a good idle and possibly to stall. I would have a different mechanic check the car before you spend quite a bit of cash on an ECM as they can cost upwards of 800 dollars

I'm having the exact same codes on my '01 GT. http://www.club3g.com/forum/problem-reports/112664-p0403-exhaust-gas-recirculation-circuit-malfunction.html
check out the last post on that page. literally just got done getting the "BB" out of the tubing. haven't found out if it solved that problem yet, but I'm hoping to not have to change the solenoid.
I'm still working on the P0128
