I operated the "Holiday Mode" button on my Model WSE6100WA fridge. After returning the temperature display etc does not illuminate so I can't operate any temperature controls

Before going on holiday I operated the "Holiday Mode" button on my Model WSE6100WA fridge. After returning from holiday I noticed that the temperature etc display panel is blank that is it shows no information so I cannot operate any of the features of that panel. How do I get the panel to restart? I have tried switching the power off and on again. According to the manual the panel should revert to normal once the fridge door is opened again.

The eco/vacation mode only exits when the door is opened if it was started automatically by the refrigerator. Since you pressed the eco button, you'd have to press the eco/holiday button until the display shows no icon for the feature.

How long did you have the power off to the refrigerator? Try pulling the plug for a 5 minute power outage. If that doesn't solve the problem, I suspect your appliance may have been damaged by a power fluctuation while you were away. Without additional information, I can't tell if only the display panel is damaged or if something else is wrong. The parts diagrams for the refrigerator are available here: http://spares.bigwarehouse.com.au/index.php?cPath=64685_78487_78846 .

I hope this helps.

KentC, This was my post on a model like yours.  Read thru this and let me know what you find.   If the ice/frost buildup is fairly thick and only on the back freezer panel then you have a defrost problem. Most likely the defrost thermostat is bad. It would be hard to explain how to test this in writing but there is a tech sheet underneath the fridge behind the grill on the r/f. It is in plastic which is stuck to the fridge. This tech sheet will tell you how to put it into diagnostic mode. First take the back panel of the freezer off (may need to get frost off first). Should be four 1/4" screws in each corner of the panel to remove. Will need to remove racks, door (should just lift off), and ice maker first. Remove vent in center of freezer panel by pushing up little tab in the center of the vent and using a screw driver to pop it loose on each side of the vent. Then remove thermistor cover on right hand side of panel. Remove (by pushing thru) ice maker plug. Once the panel is off put the fridge into defrost by the instructions on the tech sheet. If it goes into defrost (heater will get hot) then the main control board is bad. If not shut the doors to reset, defrost evaporator with a hair dryer and remove the defrost thermostat. It is a little metal round piece with two wires coming out of it and just clips onto the evaporator. Cut the two wires coming out of the thermostat, strip them back and splice them together. Now put it into defrost again. If the heater comes on then you know the thermostat is bad. Diagnostics mode can also test all functions i.e. condensor motor, compressor, evaporator fan, and thermistors. With all of that said, if it isn't a thick frost buildup the evaporator fan motor may be bad which is the most common repair on this model. It sits just behind the vent in the center of the freezer panel. Let me know what you find.

SOURCE: control panel on my fridge

Pull the power cord for 5 minute to reset the control board. if this control panel malfunction still exist after the reset, replace the control circuit board.

This is a typical control fault that should be corrected by pulling power for 5 minutes. if not, this reset will confirm major damaged to the circuit board.

SOURCE: I have a GE profile fridge model # PFS22S1SBSS.

I am surprised you were able to do diagnostics without the service manual or do you have one? I think you need to test each thermistor per test point on the motherboard. If the damper door is electric controlled then you must locate the thermistor that appears to be whacking out on you. My manual is about the only copy I have of GE's Artica/Profiles and I see yours appears to be bottom freezer. I think the thermistor is not signaling correctly and may be located near the auto vent. I HAVE MOVED THE FRIDGE FROM ONE HOUSE TO ANOTHER. I LEFT TO SETTLE FOR 2 HOUrs, PLUgged IT BACK IN AND TURNED BACK ON, THE Display IS BLANK. LEFT it ON FOR 24 HOURS, STILL NO DISPLAY.

Question edited for all the typos and add Maker.
Please don't type in all CAPS, it is considered SHOUTING and harder to read.

Fridges don't like being moved. If it stays upright the whole time, leaving 2 hours is fine. If laid down, they need 24 hours for the refrigerant and oil to settle.

It sounds like there is a bad connection on the display, so take it apart and check or call for service.

My samsung control on the freezer is displaying OF OFseems ice maker is off I pushed the power freeze by accident and can't get back to regular display

0F 0F on a Samsung refrigerator display indicates that your unit is in DEMO Mode. In DEMO mode, the lights work, but the refrigerator/freezer, fans, etc. will not operate (this mode is for display/retail purposes in appliance stores). Unfortunately, Samsung does not include any info re: DEMO mode in their user manuals.

To exit DEMO mode and return to operating mode, you will need to push 2 display buttons simultaneously for ~ 3 seconds (you'll hear a small chime, then the display window will display the freezer/fridge temps and will then be out of the 0F 0F DEMO mode). The 2 display buttons that you have to press simultaneously will depend on the model of Samsung refrigerator that you have.

I have a Samsung RF18HFENBSR model (french door, bottom freezer, display at top center of fridge compartment). For this model, you press the Power Freeze & Freezer buttons at the same time to enter/exit DEMO mode).

You might try googling Samsung XXXXXXXXXX Demo Mode, where XXXXXXXXX is your model number, and you may find the display button combo for your model. If not, then you can probably get the combination from Samsung support to return your unit to normal operating mode. Your appliance store may also have that information.

How do I deactivate the open door beeper?

You can try this special mode, but it will disable the interior lights as well.

You will be required to have both the fridge & freezer doors open, and to push and hold the compartment select MODE button on the display board for 10 seconds.

When the cabinet is in this special option mode the following will not operate:
  • The interior light will not turn on when the PC door is opened.
  • There will be no set temperature lights (LEDs) displayed on the display module.
  • The door alarm will be disconnected and will not sound even if the doors were to be left open.
NOTE: When in the special option mode, the fridge icon will be illuminated, indicating that the appliance is in this mode.

To cancel, you can exit this mode at anytime by pushing and holding the compartment select MODE button for 10 seconds. If not exited manually, the refrigerator will automatically exit this mode after 80 hours.

Our Dometic RM2652 RV frig has 2 yellow lights on which are indicated to be alert lights. The frig/freezer seem to be working fine.......????? Is something about to go out on it?

The 2 yellow lites... if you would... Is there and indication by description of what those 2 lights are?

Here are the modes:

OPERATING MODES

AUTO MODE

Press the AUTO/MANUAL mode selector button (2) to the DOWN position. The AUTO mode indicator lamp (A) will illuminate.

When operating in the AUTO mode, the AUTO mode indicator lamp (A) will illuminate. The control system will automatically select between AC and GAS operation with AC having priority over GAS. If the control system is operating on AC energy and it then becomes unavailable, the system will automatically switch to

GAS. As soon as AC becomes available again the control will switch back to AC operation.

If 120 volts AC is not available, the control system will automatically switch to GAS operation. Within 45 seconds the burner should be ignited and operating normally. If unsuccessful, the CHECK indicator lamp (B) will illuminate.

To restart an ignition attempt with the CHECK lamp illuminated or to clear (turn off) the CHECK lamp, press the main power ON/OFF button to the OFF and then to the ON position. The control system will attempt a new 45 second ignition sequence.

On the initial refrigerator start-up on gas (120 volts AC is not available), it may take longer than 45 seconds to allow air to be purged from the gas line. If the refrigerator has not been used for a long time or the LP tanks have just been refilled, air may be trapped in the supply lines. To purge the air from the lines may require resetting the main power ON/OFF button (1) three of four times. If repeated attempts fail to start the LP gas operation, check to make sure that the LP gas supply tanks are not empty and all manual shutoff valves in the lines are open.

NOTE: DO NOT continue to reset GAS operation if the CHECK indicator lamp continues to be illuminated after 3 or 4 tries.

If 120 volts AC becomes available while the CHECK indicator lamp is on, the control system will switch to 120 volt AC operation, The CHECK lamp will not turn off until the main power ON/OFF button is pressed to the OFF then ON position.

In AUTO mode operation, the temperature is controlled by a single temperature setting.

MANUAL MODE

When operating in the MANUAL mode, the AUTO mode indicator lamp (A) will be off, and the refrigerator will run continuously on the energy source selected by the control system.

NOTE: The food in the lower compartment may be frozen if the refrigerator is left on "MANUAL" mode.

STANDBY MODE . .

This control system contains a feature that will continue to operate the cooling system in the event of a failure of a major operating component. If the control cannot read the temperature sensor and operate at the preset temperature, then the control will run the cooling unit like the MANUAL mode. The refrigerator will continue to operate in this mode indefinitely or until a new sensor is installed and the
system is reset.

I posted the above information from the contents of the service manual. I can help you but... at the moment for sure I have come to the conclusion that ONE of the lights your seeing is the CHECK light. The mystery is... what is the 2nd light your seeing? Manual of Stand-by?

I am pretty sure we can sort this out but... we need to really communicate clearly and well. In our posts here.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

See page 5 of the User Manual for detailed instructions on how to adjust the fridge and freezer temperatures. It reads as follows in the manual:

To change the temperature, press and release
the WARMER or COLDER button. SET will illuminate in
the display, as well as the set temperature. To change
the temperature, tap either the WARMER or COLDER
button (while SET is illuminated) until the desired
temperature is displayed. Refrigerator temperatures
can be adjusted between 34F and 47F and
the freezer temperatures can be adjusted
between 6F and +8F.

Once the desired temperature has been set,
the temperature display will clear after 10 seconds.
To display the temperature, the DISPLAY TEMP button

Sharp SJ-F80SP-BK 4 Door refrigerator doesn't cool, freezer (bottom) working fine

When the freezer section gets cold and reaches its required cooling temperature, after that the frost on freezer section starts defrosting and the cooling fan in the freezer section blows this cool air from freezer to fridge. But if the defrost cycle does not start then over ice will get collected on freezer ventilations and that will block the air passing section from freezer to fridge, so the freezer gets cool but fridge section does not cool. Its defrost problem. Try manual defrost by unplugging the refrigerator from main power outlet for 4 hours then reconnect it and check, if the same problem is noticed again,. If yes then its defrost board problem. The defrost board located in the back of fridge section. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com or from online sears part site. ------------- Thank you.

Evaporator coils ice up after a few days and the refrigerator comparment only stops cooling. The unit is 2 years old. When removing the backing from the inside of the fridge and after thawing out the coil...

I have some information on your model and that would involve forced defrost by the service manual page 28 at bottom. How old is your Samsung? Forced Operation Function (Pull-down / Refrigerator Defrost / Refrigerator . Freezer-Defrost / Cancellation)
● This function enables a pull-down mode, a defrost mode for the refrigerator only, a defrost mode for the freezer and the
refrigerator at the same time, and a cancellation of this function.
● Press Power Freeze and Fridge Temp. buttons for 8 seconds simultaneously to get in the ready mode for a forced
operation.
● The display panel will return to normal after 20 seconds in the ready mode.
● At the ready mode, press any button(except Ice Type and Child Lock) once to start a pull-down operation, twice for a
defrost cycle for the refrigerator, three times for a defrost cycle for the freezer and the refrigerator, and finally four times
for cancellation of this function.
● Another way to cancel this function is to simply plug out and in the power cord.
1) Pull-down
1-1) At the ready mode, press any button once then the buzzer will beep (ON for 1/2 second and OFF for 1/2 second)
until this mode is cancelled.
1-2) At this pull-down mode, the compressor will start immediately (No 5 minute delay) and if the system is in the
defrost cycle, it will be cancelled right away.
note) If this pull-down mode begins right after the compressor was off, the compressor may not start to run due to an
overload condition.
1-3) At this mode, the compressor and freezer fan will operate continuously for 24 hours and the refrigerator fan will be
on and off according to the set temperature(34℉)
1-4) After 24 hour operation, the system will be cycled at -14℉ for the freezer and 34℉ for the refrigerator.
1-5) In order to cancel this mode at any time, select the next mode on the ready mode or power off the system.
2) Refrigerator Defrost / Refrigerator . Freezer-Defrost operation
2-1) At the pull-down mode, press any button again on the ready mode to begin the defrost cycle for the refrigerator.
2-2) The beep sound continues for 3 second at the beginning, then ON for 3/4 seconds and OFF for 1/4 second until
this mode cease.
2-3) After this operation, the system will come back to normal operation.
2-4) At this mode, press any button again on the ready mode to operate the defrost cycles for both compartments.
2-5) The beep sound continues for 3 seconds at that time, then ON for 1/4 second and OFF for 3/4 seconds until the
defrost operation cease.
3) Cancellation
3-1) At the R,F-Defrost mode, press ant button again on the ready mode to return to a normal operation.
3-2) Simply unplug the power cord, then plug it again to return to a normal operation.
Press both button for 8seconds at the same time Send maual in one moment, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Freezer not working

Your refrigerator has a Control-defrost,adaptive timer ,PC board part number 241508001
This is providing your model is the one listed above your post WRS3R3EW. The model you listed in post does not come up. Until we can determine that the freezer is not defrosting you need to unplug and remove the back panel of freezer compartment to see if the evaporator coils are frozen or clear. If frozen this alone will cause a chain reaction that keeps vents to fresh food compartment open and cause freezing in that area. Go to link below and enter model number WRS3R3EW0 Then you will see a list of diagrams on left side, chose #11 this will show the control parts. Click link below Thanks, Sea Breeze
