Which engine?
ok , it on the lower right , on my 2 jeeps.
see battery, see that huge PLUS cable, it goes the starter.
dont short that wire , or boom acid bath.
ask hows to do it or
RTM
the FSM covers this, and safely.
engine systems. page 33....

starter solenoid is usually located on the starter on all GM products. There is also a starter relay in the fuse box located under the hood of your particular vehicle.

The location of the starter is as per the car engine.If its 4.5 liter then starter is located on front bottom of the engine.And if its 4.6 liter engine then starter is located under the intake manifold. And On the 4.9 liter the starter is located on the bottom side of the engine. ------------ This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Look at the lower end of the engine - try to follow the + battery cable ...

Fig. Remove the starter electrical connections, noting their locations

Fig. Location of the two starter retaining bolts

Trying to find the location of the starter

Try looking on the front side of the engine between the oil filter and transmission.

Removal & Installation

Remove or disconnect the following:
- Negative battery cable
- Starter harness connectors
- Starter motor

To install:

Install or connect the following:
- Starter motor. Torque the bolts to 35 ft. lbs. (47 Nm).
- Starter harness connectors. Torque the battery cable nut to 100 inch lbs. (11 Nm).
- Negative battery cable
