You can purchase an adapter that goes into cassette player.

Not much you can try at this time of the week unless you have access to parts. Sounds like your 4388932 Adaptive Defrost Timer has failed. It can be found inside the control panel item location 6 in this photo HEREI will be here should you have questions, Thanks Sea Breeze
No offense but this is actually not the solution. There is a quirk with some Kenwood DDX 419. The manual on page 24 makes it clear that it is supposed to play audio through an ipod cable alone, only if you want to stream audio and video or the Garmin App should you need the other cable with the dual plugs (usb and audio). I bought one for my car and had it installed last week and it works right from the USB (only) with my iphone 4s and does not need the extra audio plug in which is inferior sound quality (analog) compared to the USB only (digital). I bought a second deck for my wife's car and had them install it this week and it did not work with the USB alone. The one on demo in Future shop did not work either with the USB alone. The manual for the DDX 419 makes it clear that it is supposed to stream audio without the extra cable. It reads, "To listen to the music (digital): USB Audio cable for iPod/iPhone-- KCA-iP102 (optional accessory). Look up the cable by google searching and you will see that even on the Kenwood site it is a regular iPod/iPhone cable. There is obviously a glitch with certain decks and they are not addressing it. I am returning mine and getting a Pioneer.
do you have a laptop/pc (this will make every thing much easier, no extra cable/adapters to buy)..just download the latest itunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/) place any cd in drive and rip (recording/uploading was once what it was called) the whole / or part of the cd to itunes..once you have all the tunes you want plug up iphone to pc via its usb cable...itunes will find your cell now click that music library from the top and drag it down to your iphone on the bottom (this will take some time depending on how many tracks there are...eject from itunes ...now for playback using headphones or RCA jacks (you don't plug this into cd you plug it into a rec / amp)
Your post title says the adapter for "AC" is broken but your description mentions the cigarette adapter. The cigaretter adapter is DC. An AC adapter plugs into the wall outlet in your home.
If you are looking for a replacement car adapter, try Ebay:
