Hi The pilot light when out and the oven has stop working does the pilot light double as a fuse ?? BSO 6000

No. The pilot light uses a thermocouple(safety device) to let the main gas valve know that the pilot is lit so that the main gas valve can operate safely by not letting the main gas valve turn on without a lit pilot light. This way, in no way can the main gas valve turn on until the heat from the pilot light causes the thermocouple to produce an electrical current which allows the main gas valve to operate when the thermostat switch closes.

Error Code E-08 on Samsung Gas Range. Oven will not heat but range top works.

Is there a gas pilot light that stays lit all the time or does it have an electric pilot light that glows red to start the oven.Either way if it's a gas pilot the thermocouple is bad, if electric the igniter is bad.

The Pilot Light on my Delonghi DEBIE 24 SS Electrical is on even though the oven is off - any idea how to correct this?

The pilot light stays on most none electric lighting for gas appliance, this is normal if you do not have an electric ingnition on your oven.
Hope this is helpful

Oven won't get hot

If your oven still uses a pilot light, it also probably has a thermocouple positioned in the pilot's flame path to detect whether if is safe to turn on the main burner. When the thermocouple fails, the oven thinks the pilot light is not lit and will not let gas flow to the primary burners. The part isn't costly (should be <$20 US) but replacing it may require some expensive labor.

1937 anitque American Stove came with Magic chef cook book and Loraine thermostatic temperature regulator. Having problems getting Oven pilot light to light. Have checked thoroughly for leaks but have...

THE PILOT LIGHT IS IGNIGHTED BY AN ELECTRICAL WIRE THAT IS LOCATED BESIDE THE GAS JETS SO MAKE SURE THE ELECTRICAL IGNITION SYSTEM HAS POWER YOU NEED TO LOCATE THE WIRE AND FOLLOW IT TO FIND THE POWER SORCE THEN CONECT THE POWER SUPLY TO IT , GOOD COOKING.

Kenmore gas oven won't light. The pilot light is on but no gas. What do I do?

Put a torch on the probe. If the flame comes on them the thermocouple is weak.If nothing at all replace the safety valve. That is if you have a standing pilot. If you pilot is an electric one then it should be so bright it is hard to look at but if it is dim orange it is weak.

Display light does not come on

you have to check if electricity is geting to the pilot lights (120volts) if does, the light is burned, replace it.if not, look for damage wiring going to it.This is assuming that the oven is working properly.

Faulty bake or broil element

The solution to this problem depends on whether the oven is electric or gas. Electric oven. If your electric oven's bake or broil element isn't working properly, either it isn't receiving electric power or the element or the oven control may need to be replaced. In many cases, the wiring to the elements can be burnt or broken. 1) Be sure the controls are set on the proper setting. 2) Be sure the stove is plugged in and/or check the circuit breaker or fuse that serves that circuit. 3) Call an appliance repairperson or replace the element yourself as follows. 4) Unplug the oven and let any hot parts cool. 5) Unscrew the mounting screws that secure the element bracket to the oven and pull out the element far enough to access its terminals. Note which wires are attached to each of the terminals, then disconnect the wires (pull off the wire clips or unscrew the wires). 6) Take the element to a parts dealer, along with your oven's model and serial number, and buy a replacement (preferably the manufacturer's suggested replacement part). 7) Reverse the process to reinstall. Gas oven. When a gas oven doesn't get hot, it generally means that it isn't receiving gas, the gas valve isn't distributing gas to the oven burner, or the ignition system -- either an electronic ignition or pilot light -- isn't working properly. A common problem with ovens that have a pilot light is that the pilot light has gone out. NOTE: Gas ranges younger than 10 years old have a sophisticated fault code system that governs their ignition. Always call an approved warranty service provider to handle problems with these ranges. Here's how to troubleshoot your range: 1) Be sure the controls are set on the proper setting. 2) Be sure the stove is plugged in and/or check the circuit breaker or fuse that serves that circuit. 3) Check the gas valve to be sure the gas supply is turned on (also make sure the house's main gas valve is turned on). 4) On a stove with a pilot light, make sure the pilot light is burning. If it isn't, re-light as discussed HERE, or in your owner's manual. 5) Adjust the pilot flame (older stoves only). 6) Turn off the gas and unplug the stove (or turn off its circuit at the electrical panel). 7) Clean out the oven burner ports, using a stiff wire. 8) Plug in the stove (or turn on its circuit) and turn the gas back on. Re-light the pilot (if it has one). 9) If the oven still doesn't work, call an appliance repairperson.
