Question about Kenmore 24.8 cu. ft. TRIO Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Trio: humming and temp in freezer rising

Their was an intermittant (now for 24 hours) loud buzzing/humming. The repair man came last week and replaced a part but, the humming is continuing. Now the temp in the freezer is rising. Sounds like something is not "kicking on" when it is supposed to and the freezer is now not cold. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the condensor fan motor is seizing up. This is the fan that cools the compressor down. Does the outside of the fridge feel excessively hot to touch? Can you feel air being circulated under the fridge or behind the fridge? It could also be a faulty defrost timer. Try to identify where the buzzing is coming from and if it is the condensor fan you can put a normal standing fan behind the fridge, blowing onto the compressor untill the repairman can get to you.

Without a freezer fan the temp. in the frig will rise and the milk will spoil. After more days the temp. in the freezer will rise as well. Without a freezer fan the air is not moving, so naturally the the evaporator will ice up. Worst case the motor will smell like burnt. the frig will suffer 1st then the freezer. someone can get sick be careful. hope this was helpful replace the motor

It is probably the control board and since it's new it's still under warranty so a certified Frigidaire repair man will fix it without charge. There should be a telephone number with the paperwork you received when you bought it.

You need to clean your coils under the 'fridge,' and wait 24 hours, if it is not not getting cold, perhaps replace the freon. If that does not work, you need to call a repairman.

no it wont work, you can try replacing the overload relay assy mounted on the side of the compressor(football sized motor) behind refrig. i would check your manual for warr. information depending on age you may be covered for faulty compressor.

Temp Fluctuations

i wouldnt worry mucha bout the fluxuations in temp, chances are simply a momentary reading perhaps just after a defrost cycle, sometimes new electronics can be a little too sensitive, I would only worry if you actually experience a noticable deiifeence in temp(ie.. your milk doesnt last as long, ice cream not hard as once was,, dairy usually best indicator in temp flux's))) dont worry so much abou the number, unlkess they are consistantly rising without correction

Loud buzzing noise

IF YOUR FREEZER HAS A TEMP ALARM, USUALLY LOCATED IN FRONT,BOTTOM, RIGHT CORNER, THE TEMP IS PROBABLY ABOVE THE SAFE TEMP FOR FREEZERS, (10 DEGREES) AND SO THE ALARM WILL SOUND.

THERE SHOULD BE A SWITCH IN FRONT TO SHUT OFF THE ALARM UNTIL THE TEMP GETS BACK DOWN TO ZERO. THEN YOU CAN TURN THE ALARM BACK ON.

IF YOU PLUG IN THE FREEZER AND TURN IT ON, IT SHOULD BE BACK DOWN TO NORMAL TEMP (IF IT IS EMPTY) IN ABOUT 24 HOURS. IF IT ISN'T, YOU HAVE OTHER PROBLEMS. CHECK TO BE SURE THE COMPRESSOR IS RUNNING.
