Try connecting an external monitor to see if it is a screen problem with the laptop itself. then you could at least get your information off, and do some more focused troubleshooting.

Does the acer aspire 7551g -7606 have a msata slot?

Apparently there isn't that many reviews out there yet, for an Acer Aspire 7551-7606
(I found one, and it was SERIOUSLY lacking)

From Acer Support,

http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/2010/Acer/Aspire/Aspire7551/Aspire7551sp2.shtml

Input and Output: HDMI port

I would think that slot next to the Ram Memory is for a Wireless Module. ('Wireless Card')

I believe the Acer T77H167.07 module is used. Used in a LOT of Acer laptops,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acer-Aspire-7741Z-Atheros-Wifi-Wireless-Card-T77H167-07-HF-AR5B97-/251001063265

Now would it use a Mini-SATA slot, or a Mini-PCI-E slot?

Mini-PCI-Express slot. You wouldn't want a wireless module using a slow SATA slot.

It's probably PCI-Express 2.0 technology that is used.

The best that SATA will move data is, SATA 3 at 6Gigabits per Second, (6Gb/s)

[NOTE*
Not Bytes -> Bits.
A Byte is considered to be 8 bits.
8 Characters. Whether they are numbers, letters, or symbols.
A bit is considered to one character ]

PCI-Express 2.0 with a 32-lane connector can transfer data back, and forth at 16GB/s

16 GigaBytes per Second,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express#PCI_Express_2.0

8 GB/s one direction (Send), and 8GB/s the other direction. (Receive)

I have a mini laptop Acer, when I turn on my mini computer it doesn't turn on. Everything is working but the screen is black. What should I do?

If it is still under warranty then contact the manufacturer and see about getting it fixed. If not then it would need to be looked at by a technician to determine what is actually wrong. Most likely a broken LCD which would need to be replaced.

I want to restore my Acer AOA 150 ( mini netbook) to factory default setting. The problem is that Acer Recovery Management is not working. when i click on it No action it takes plz tell me the...

Unlike other laptops, Acer laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer mini notebook to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer mini notebook to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer mini notebook is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your notebook data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.

How do you change the background on a mini acer labtop with the new windows 7

If you have the Windows 7 "Starter Edition" or, on a select few subsidized netbooks (through cellphone carriers), you can not change the background.

Any other version of windows 7 can be changed by:
1) Right-click a blank area on the desktop
2) Select 'personlize' from the menu
3) Select 'Desktop Background' located in the lower left area of the Personalization window.
4) Select your background, hit 'Save changes'

Black screen on my labtop, can't see a thing

This sounds like a ram or memory issue. If your computer is under warranty I would contact the manufacturer. If it is not, I would find a manual and reseat the ram. All notebooks vary so I would not be able to tell you where it is specifically. The process is you pull out the ram, and put it back in.

If you feel uncomfortable doing this any local computer repair store should be able to take care of this for you.

Also, is the screen turning on, I mean can you tell if the screen is actually on. There may be a problem with the monitor, or cabling if the screen is not actually turning on. I understand the screen stays blank, but there is two different types of blank. As in there is no text but the screen is on. Or the screen is completely off.

If it is completely off it is not a memory issue, but a screen issue and would need to be handled by the manufacturer or repair firm.

I HAVE A ASPIRE 5610 LABTOP AND IT HAVE A CAMERA ON THE LABTOP AN I DO NOT NO HOW TO WORK THE CAMERA

HI
i have an acer one mini pc and has a built in Acer Crystal Eye Webcam.
i didnt have much instruction either.
it may not be exactly like yours, but it certainly wasnt where I would've expected it.

On mine, you click Start button, go to My Computer, where all the drives and docs are.
My camera was in there. you could click it just to play with and even snap a photo.
i've found the only way to make a video, or make it a webcam was w/ another app.
I've used Facebook, and Yahoo IM's. Works alright. A novely really. Stills are great, but movies are jerky. Low fps. have to move very slow or u r a blur. ;)

Sure hope this helps.
