VIZIO flickering Tv screen easy fix( no money ) .... I left town unplugged the Tv. When I came home home ...
Guess I should have looked throught the next couple of posts... The problem you have there you will not be able to repair yourself but a good shop can fix it temporarily. The CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) or picture tube is shorted, that's what is causing your blinking. You can call around and ask a shop locally if they can rejuvenate it for you using a crt analyser. In the shop here we use a BK467 which would fix the problem for awhile. What they will do is take the back off and hook-up the analyser and remove the short temporarily. That fix could last weeks or even months, in most cases though never more than a year. Turn the RV1791 back down, it has nothing to do with the G2 voltage and you don't want to overdrive the crt anyway. Take it back down until the horz. lines disappear in dark scenes or background. Then take it in and have the picture tube rejuvenated. Then start shopping for a new Tv... You'll need one eventually but this will buy you a little more time.
