phone is compatible as I have same car and bb storm. check to see that you do not have mute button depressed.

it is software problem

If your phone shows network unavailable messages maybe your phone didn't recognize your sim card. It's means your phone still locked on particular network and you will need blackberry storm 9530 unlock code to unlock your phone network. remove the battery and leave it out for 2 minutes.
replace the battery in the phone and let it boot.
see if it works. If it doesn't work return it to where you bought it for a new one. the screen is probably defective.

if you are still experiencing issues, please contact Verizon Wireless support while using a different phone than your storm. The support team should be able to walk you through getting your equipment to sync. The storm should be compatible with a Mac.
