Go into your picture set up menu, which should be in the main menu for the TV, and change your aspect ratio.

Try checking all picture format settings from your remote (scale or zoom features). Unplug the tv for about 20 minutes plug it back in. If picture is normal then shrinks back, its a prescaler issue and needs servicing.

How do I fix the problem with my TV? Details are below.

Normally on the Panasonic tv this will call for a service call. The key to getting it repaired correctly is to check for a certified Samsung repair shop because most of the parts come from Samsung. Now if you want to do your own research call to 800 number for Panasonic Tv see if there are any problems with that model that the manufacturer has extended but does not post. I had one repaired that the red light on also so I understand and it went out approximately 4 3/4 years. If your in the Atlanta area use Norman electronics they have repaired hundreds on tvs for me due to my work.

My 3 year old Proscan 42" LCD TV picture suddenly

On the far left and right inside the back on panel are inverter boards. Replace or look for capacitors buldged, swollen, or cracked on their tops. Replace defective caps with original value and make sure replacements are 105 degree for longevity. Common problem, let me know if this helped.

Vertical line picture

problem is caused by the loss of horizontal deflection signal. It is quite surprising that the entire unit is still working, since usually, a loss of H-Out will disable the entire set. Problem can be as simple as loose solder connection to a more complicated defective horizontal circuit. I would suggest havint it checked by a professional TV tech.

32 inch rca color

If this is a 32 inch TV then it is a standard picture tube set. If the colors have suddenly gone out of whack, and the set has not been dropped or had any large magnets near it recently, it means that the degaussing thermistor has come loose from its legs. This is very common in the RCA regular picture tube sets. If you look in the back of the set you will see a large black coil of wire wrapped around the edges of the picture tube, with 2 white wires going down to a jack on the main PC board. Right next to that jack is the degaussing thermistor, which looks like a small silver disc, like a nickle, with 2 legs loosely soldered to its sides. One or both of those legs are probably loose, and if you are very careful you can solder those legs back onto the thermistor. If you do not have experience soldering small parts, allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.
