Camara has been working fine till yesterday, poewer won't turn on, to take pictures, but it turns on when i moved the tab to brouse pictures, bur when I switched it back power won't work

Sounds like electrolytic capacitor dried up needs curing, which is power on capacitor and left it absorb some moisture in humidity on power. Some time a few minutes, hard cases may take a few days.
Hi there please follow the steps and let me know the result.
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine .
Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a
back up all photos in your computer then format. If no luck then reset or restore the camera setting by pressing Menu key for 2 sec ..
in not done the press both Menu & self time key for 2 - 4 sec.

I'm sure the problem is NOT the battery, try to put the camera in automatic mode or in easy mode. If that doesn't help look if the lens are clean and spotless.
Same thing happened to me a while ago. I was in a panic. I turned it on and off several times...no change. Finally, I turned the camera to the off position, took the battery out of the camera for about 30 seconds and put it back in again and it worked fine. No problem since.
Try taking the SD card out and restart the camera. Also, make sure the batteries are fully charged. There is also a firmware upgrade indicating a problem with the lens getting stuck.
The possible answer is that batteries are past thier best now and even a 'full' charge is not delivering enough power.
