Blender leaks while in use
Make sure that the big black nut under the jar is tight. It holds the blade and bearing assembly into the beaker. The odd one can leave the factory not properly tightened up and vibration loosens it off. Nobody is telling you it will be easy to tighten that nut up because it isn't.
My blender is having the same problem. Any tips on how to tighten the nuts? I'm trying vise grips and wrenches, but so far I can't get both to grasp at the same time.
They are difficult to do, normally you would remove the blade assembly from the bush that is held in by those top and bottom nuts. Then get the bush assembly right before lubricating the blade shaft & replacing it. I have made up a piece of 4 x 2 wood to put in the vise, it has a hole in the upper end and a notch on one side so that you can invert the beaker over it to lock the blade from turning. Then I undo the splined blade drive from the blade shaft. I use another coupling to engage the splined drive because if you wreck it you will be up for a new beaker complete. To undo that coupling you turn it in the direction it normally rotates, it's a left hand thread. When you are doing the bush part, give it a good clean, the black rubber flat washer goes under the nut head inside the beaker. I can't remember if there is a rubber washer under the bottom nut, if there are 2 of them then one goes underneath followed by a flat metal washer and then the bottom nut. You want it tight but not stupidly tight so as to squeeze a rubber washer out. Kitchen Aid recommend that thread lock (loctite) is used on the bottom nut to prevent it vibrating loose.

The piece that you need is referred to as the coupler. The coupler is a breakway part that is designed to shear and/or wear down in the event that the blender is overloaded. This is to avoid damage to the motor.
The coupler may be purchased individually and is an easy repair that can be done at home. You may purchase the part and access step-by-step replacement instructions at the following link:
