Hair in a Jacuzzi Drain

Hi! Our jacuzzi has only been installed about 6 months. My daughter showers in it every day and I think hair is getting in the drain. There is often standing water in the tub after she showers. Is there a way to remove the plug for showers and use a strainer? And then use the plug, or some other generic plug, for baths?

Take the drain plug out and remove the hair. Once you remove the hair from the drain your water will drain from the shower.

the jet covers normally unscrew counter clock wise .As far as the smell goes it could be clumps of old hair after time the old hair usually causes a pretty bad smell.Try snaking the drain. This might help.

SOURCE: Bath tub spa will not shut off

If you haven't done this already. I would search your breaker panel for a circut breaker titled jacuzzi tub (or something to that effect), and if it is not listed I would get someone to monitor when the tub shuts off, while you flip each breaker off, one at a time so as to determine which breaker it is and then immediately title it.
Next, an access panel to the tubs motor should be installed. After access is gained, inspect the pumps receptacle and if it is not GFIC protected I would return to the breaker panel, it may have a GFIC breaker. If neither are the case, then have this issue repaired
The button on your jacuzzi is air actuated with a flexible air line that connects to the actual switch, it may have broken or however became disconnected.

Any questions, feel free... Good luck...

SOURCE: Jacuzzi whirlpool, air on/off button on tub

If it is a air button that pushes in and comes back up, there is a good chance that the switch (which is mounted on the pump/motor) is bad. If the switch is a touch button on a key pad, the problem is in the control box for the pump/motor.

If there is room most definitely you can place the faucets on the tub itself. You can mount them on the left rear. However be very careful drilling the holes and make sure you have it aligned correctly before drilling. Check underneath to make sure there is enough room for clearance and hook up. Here is what it will look like. a1da3ad.png

SOURCE: whirlpool bath won't turn on.

Most of the control buttons on a tub are not electrical. These buttons are connected to an air line that runs to the motor. Sometimes an aggressive button push can literally blow the air line right off of the bottom of the button.
This problem is as easy to fix as it sounds. Find the loose air line and push it back onto the button. You will need to open up your access panel. Bring a flashlight.
Be sure to check the connection at the motor too. Good luck

I am missing the drain stopper for a Jacuzzi Signa 6 whirlpool. This is a round disc with a short metal stem on its underside.

Drain plugs on bathtubs are generic in size. Jacuzzi does not make them. They are made by other Mfg and installed by your local plumber when the tub is installed.

My bathtub is draining very slow and I cannot figure out how to remove the stopper to clean out the problem (which is most likely a lot of hair). It is brand new...only like 6 months old...Delta brand.

On most drains, the top of the drain will unscrew, and then you can get to the rest of it. Sometimes you will have to take a pair of pliers to turn it, but it should come off.

If it only leaks when filled to a high level, the rubber washer behing the overflow plate is misaligned or missing. this plate is on the tub wall above the drain, and hld in in by 1 or 2 screws.

Yes, you can raise to avoid the cut by raising shower as long as gravity drain can occur, i.e. you can drain the shower to connect to existing drain lines. Definately put the s-trap in, if no trap then plumbing gas comes back and shower will smell. Remember to put in a plumbing vent or tie in to existing vent.

How do you get hair out of a drain that is in a Jacuzzi. Can I unscrew the drain stopper or can I remove the chrome plate further up the tub?

unscrew what ever is covering the hole where the water drains out,.... use a pair of needle nose pliers or an old coat hanger with a little hook pre-bent in it (don't get it stuck in there) and pull out the hair,....it's that easy! good luck, cracklin joe
