If the screen is white, try separating your wires behind the computer. Simple but stops the cross-talk of signals.

When the power light is flashing the monitor is not getting a stable signal. This is hard to answer without direct troubleshooting. Check the cables first, make sure they are connected securely. If you still have problems test another monitor you know works or move monitor to a computer you know works, this will determine if the monitor is the problem or not and tell you if it is your "graphics port or adapter". If another monitor works fine, use the working cables to test the "broken" monitor. If you have an "all-in-one" computer, ignore the above steps and use a start-up repair disk. The reason this is hard to troubleshoot is there are so many things to diagnose. More than likely your "graphics card" is failing. These are some tricks to repair. You can update the driver, buy a graphic card separate from the stock port.

I would recommend calling RCA support at (800) 252- 6123 so they can suggest some troubleshooting steps you can take. If it is still under warranty and you're unable to get it working then you can send it back and get a replacement

The BIOS does not detect or recognize the ATA / SATA hard drive Tips and tricks for troubleshooting a Serial ATA or ATA/IDE internal drive that is not detected in the BIOS.
There are six main reasons why a system BIOS will not detect the presence of an internal hard drive. Here is a list of them. They are not in any particular order, but you can follow these steps one by one to troubleshoot this problem:
  1. Drive not enabled in the BIOS
  2. Serial ATA drivers are not properly installed
  3. Faulty or unplugged data cable
  4. Drive is not spinning up
  5. Incorrect jumper settings on the drive
  6. Faulty hard drive
Note: Sections 3, 4, 5, and 6 pertain to PC or Mac systems. Sections 1 and 2 pertain only to PC systems.
For more detailed step-by-step troubleshooting on this topic, please see the Seagate Serial ATA troubleshooter "Drive Not Detected" section.
After verifying that your ATA or SATA port is set to Auto-Detect or is enabled, if you find that your disk drive is not being detected (auto-detected) by the system BIOS, try the following steps to try and isolate/troubleshoot the problem.

    System setup is where the date and time are stored and where startup preferences like NumLock or Passwords are defined. In addition, many hardware settings are defined in System Setup.
    In particular, hard disk drives are often controlled here. At the simplest level, hard drives are numbered in Setup as Drive 0, Drive 1, etc or sometimes as Primary Master, Primary Slave. Which ever way these are named, they have a basic ON / OFF setting (sometimes AUTOMATIC or something similar). If your drive is not detected it may be because it is turned OFF in System Setup.
    In most cases, the boot drive is Drive 0 or Primary Master. When you add a second drive to the system, it may be need to be enabled by turning it ON in System Setup.

  3. To be able to hit the F6 button, you must restart the Setup process, and watch the bottom of the screen after pressing Enter on the "Welcome to Setup" screen. There will be some moments of files being loaded, and then you should see a message appear that says "Press F6 if you need to install a 3rd party SCSI or RAID driver". This message will only stay on the screen for a couple of seconds, so press F6 as soon as you see it appear.

  4. After this is done, you will see other messages appear, and it will act as though nothing is happening, but eventually a screen will appear that will allow you to install the drivers for the add-in SATA controller. The screen will look like the sample below:

  5. After you press S, the driver install process will continue and the floppy diskettes will be needed. Further instructions will be furnished after the driver install process has ended.

  6. Insert the floppy diskette containing the drivers for the add-in Serial ATA controller.
  7. Once the drivers are loaded, proceed with the normal Windows XP/2000 installation.

A few further notes on the driver diskette:
For the hard drive to be detected in a new installation, the drivers for the add-in SATA controller/motherboard must be loaded at the beginning of installation.
The drivers for the controller/motherboard can probably be found either on the CD that came with it or on the manufacturer's website. These drivers do not come from Seagate; they come from the motherboard manufacturer. Simply load the required drivers on the diskette and have it ready.

  • The BIOS will not detect a hard disk if the data cable is damaged or the connection is incorrect.
    Serial ATA cables, in particular, can sometimes fall out of their connection. Be sure to check your SATA cables are tightly connected to the SATA port connection.
  • The easiest way to test a cable is to replace it with another cable. If the problem persists, then the cable was not the cause of the problem.
  • For ATA drives, Seagate recommends using UDMA cabling with a maximum length of 18 inches. UDMA cables have color coded connections which require proper orientation when connecting.
    • Blue connector - always connects to the motherboard.
    • Grey (middle) connector - is used for slave devices on the cable.
    • Black connector - is used for master device connection.

  • If the drive is still not spinning, connect it in another computer if possible.
  • Connect the drive in a SATA-USB enclosure or something similar if possible.

    ATA: It is recommended that all Seagate ATA hard disks supporting the Cable Select jumper option be configured as Cable Select. If your computer system was built prior to October 1998 and does not support UDMA 66 or greater you will be required to use the Master/Slave jumper settings.

    When using Cable Select jumper settings on your ATA drive, all devices connected to the UDMA cable must also use the Cable Select setting. The cable decides master/slave device detection when the cable select jumper settings are used.
  • SeaTools for DOS (see the tutorial here) to test the drive. If SeaTools does not detect the drive after the steps followed above, or an error code that signifies drive failure displays, please proceed to the our Warranty Services page to begin a warranty replacement order.

    Monitor STFC (Self Test Feature Check)
    * Turn off the monitor
    * Plug the monitor power cord directly into the wall socket to remove any surge protectors or APCs from the troubleshooting equation
    * Unplug the monitor video cable from the back of the computer
    * Turn on the monitor
    * The floating dialog box should appear on screen against a black background. If the issue appears during the STFC, the monitor is defective. Get it replaced.

    The moniter blacked out, blue light is saying the moniter is still on, but screen looks like there is no power. When you turn on the moniter, the screen shows up for a few seconds, then blacks out again!...


    Unplug power. Unplug VGA cable. Remove back of monitor. (four small Philips headed screws along the bottom rear. Remove screws attaching Monitor to it's base. Carefully, lean the screen away from back of case. Gently unplug 25 pin cable from the screen.
    Connect AC power.
    Screen should power on Gray to White. Ble light comes on Blue.Flickers then changes to Amber.
    Reconnect VGA cable. Monitor should work.
    Close up the monitor in reverse order to opening it.
    If these steps don't solve your monitor, consider replacing as cost of repairs may shock you.

    Hi,

    If printing is skewed, feeding multiple pages or jamming, please follow these instructions (use a regular letter size paper to test after doing the steps given below):
    Please check to ensure there is nothing obstructing the paper feed mechanism down inside the printer where it is not easily seen. If there is nothing obvious, unplug the printer and remove the paper. Open the front cover and look above the steel rod. You should see a conveyor belt with rubber teeth on it, like a fan belt. Take the bottom part of that belt and move it gently to the left. The cartridges should come out with it. Make sure the cartridges can move fully from one side of the printer to the other. Check also the output rollers on the bottom of the printer for any blockage. If it is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot. Turn the printer off. Next take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the paper feed slot (The manual paper feed slot is preferred, but the automatic feed will do if there is no manual paper feed for this printer) until it comes completely through the printer to the back of the exit rollers. Move it up and down and slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate this may work it loose or you may have to feed the envelope through the front rollers and push your way backward (please be careful here).
    Next, take a damp warm cloth and clean the rubber rollers in the automatic sheet feeder. Dust may be coating the rollers there and as they become less tacky, they cannot feed paper correctly.
    Then plug the printer back up, take your paper out and replace it with a fresh, small stack (about 5 pages) of paper. Quickly bend the stack in an 'S' shape a few times to separate pages. Make sure it is lined up on the right side of the paper feed and the paper guide on the left is snug on the left side of the paper. Then try to form feed again. If that works, then try to print the self test page.

    Begin by disconnecting the power supply from the wall (not the back of the printer) for at least "30 seconds." This is essential. Then plug the printer back in and follow these steps:
    1. Press the "Copy" button.
    2. Press the "Menu" button.
    3. Press the down arrow button once or until the screen displays "Maintenance."
    4. Press the check mark button to select the "Maintenance" menu.
    5. Press the down arrow button three times until the screen displays "Print Test Page."
    6. Press the check mark button to select this. The Self-Test will start printing.
    The self-test should at least print out a set of either black or color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously.) Should this test fail, try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with the color cartridge installed. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let me know.

    Rear Defogger Inoperative, But Heated Mirrors Operate Correctly
    1. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn rear defogger on. Using scan tool, display BCM
    outputs. If rear defogger is being requested on, go to next step. If rear defogger is not being requested on, go to
    step 10).
    2. Ensure ignition switch is in RUN position. Remove rear defogger relay from rear junction block, located on center
    right rear of passenger compartment, under rear seat. Connect test light between ground and defogger relay
    harness connector terminal F3 (Brown wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not
    illuminate, go to step 11).
    3. Connect test light between ground and defogger relay harness connector terminal A2 (Red wire). If test light
    illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 12).
    4. Connect test light between defogger relay harness connector terminals A2 (Red wire) and B3 (Purple wire). If test
    light illuminates, go to step 13). If light does not illuminate, go to next step.
    5. Disconnect rear defogger positive and negative feed bus connectors. Connect a jumper wire between defogger
    relay harness connector terminals F3 (Brown wire) and A4 (White wire). Connect test light between ground and
    positive feed bus connector terminal "A" (Black wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not
    illuminate, go to step 8).
    6. Connect test light between positive feed bus connector terminal "A" (Black wire) and negative feed bus connector
    terminal "B" (Black wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 9).
    7. Repair open in Black wire between rear defogger and ground. Recheck system operation.
    8. Repair open in Purple wire between rear junction block and heated backlight antenna module. Recheck system
    operation.
    9. Check for proper terminal contact at rear defogger connectors. Repair as necessary. Recheck system operation.
    10. Check for proper terminal contact at BCM. If terminal contact is okay, replace BCM. Recheck system operation.
    11. Repair open in Brown wire between rear junction block and instrument panel junction block. Recheck system
    operation.
    12. Repair open in Red wire between rear junction block and underhood junction block (located in right front corner of
    engine compartment, between battery and strut tower). Recheck system operation.
    13. Connect test light between defogger relay harness connector terminals F3 (Brown wire) and A4 (White wire). If
    test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 16).
    14. Reinstall defogger relay. Disconnect BCM 32-pin Pink connector C2. BCM is located behind right side of instrument
    panel, near rear of glove box. Using DVOM, check voltage between ground and BCM harness connector C2
    terminal A3 (White wire). If any voltage is present, go to next step. If no voltage is present, go to step 17).
    15. Repair open or short to ground in White wire between rear junction block and BCM. Recheck system operation.
    16. Check for poor connection at defogger relay terminals. If connections are okay, replace defogger relay. Recheck
    system operation.
    17. Check for proper terminal contact at BCM. If terminal contact is okay, replace BCM. Recheck system operation.

    Take the post (power on self test) disconnect vga cable and connect power cable if monitor shows no signal check signal cable massage then monitor is ok fault is in cpu. open it and clean the dust
    by vaccum cleaner you will get the display again
